Evening, everyone. First up, Clara's emailed the stop3points subscriber list.

Quote:
On June 2nd, Cole Fusion announced that they will be launching their 3Points project in September. This communications technology system will give Cole Fusion complete vast influence over the World Wide Web.

The consequences of 3Points on democratic society will be irreversible: Web content will be pay per view. Sites will be restricted and censored. Information will no longer be accessible to all. Online data will become slanted and biased, favouring the interests of corporate stakeholders and investors.

As of now, the internet is one of the few media platforms that offer opportunities for alternative media sources that challenge the status quo. It provides an outlet for citizen activism, artistic expression and freedom of speech.

The fundamental principles of the Internet will no longer exist if Cole Fusion is allowed to proceed with this project. Demand your right to a free and open internet! Stop the 3Points project! Join the resistance!

FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO 10 PEOPLE YOU KNOW...WHILE YOU STILL HAVE ACCESS TO YOUR OWN EMAIL ACCOUNT.

Secondly, because we might need it in the future, here's the collective writing on the wall.

And for those of you wanting to play for both teams, good luck.

For the record, I'm in Product Development under Knighthawk2024. Luminaire FTW!

About the subliminal message which says "find the expert"

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Earlier today, I sent this email to stop3pointsSPLATgmail.com :
Subject : d2c24d59e0baff4d0fbf90254b7a7023155fbdf62590867a689c18a8cbe490cc
Body : Dear Mr Harrold,

I've carefully watched the video you and your team have put online and I couldn't agree more about this whole net neutrality issue. I'd rather not say more online without an encrypted communication channel that would allow us to discuss without fearing eavesdropping and/or man-in-the-middle attacks, especially from ColeFusion.

Regards

melka

Heres what they answered :
What would you suggest? Security and privacy are very important to us as well.

s3p

What do you think, fellow ARGers ? Should we have a brainstorming about how we could communicate with stop3points ?

BTW, my product design prototype just got posted : Ambientia Rock On

Topping From The Bottom

Maybe we should start sending them coded messages? BTW, it's looking like similarly to the way things work OOG, I didn't get the job.

Coded messages seem to make the best sense to communicate wiht them. The downside is that we can't trust a key to the code to make it to them without being spied on, possibly... maybe we send THEM a puzzled code and hope they cna crack it?

In response to the last email I recieved from Cara, I sent one back asking why 'our kind' wasn't welcome and what we are.

She replied with:

Quote:
We are not welcome because we are antithetical to their very essence. That's what makes Us different. We are not Them.

Any ideas what this means?

from what happened so far, stop3points used 3 channels for communicating with us:

mails - in which they didn't passed any relevant info
the youtube and the cityjournalpost - which they trust enough to send us clues

i think we should send encrypted messages/questions to which they could respond using the communication channels they can trust: youtube or the newspaper.
this way, if our mails are intercepted, their answers won't.

Why not just use the same means of contact should something pressing arise? We've already seen that we can publish in the City Post, albeit on behalf of ColeFusion. If we really need a message to get to s3p, I vote Youtube or a public coded message in the newspaper. Hide in plain sight!

Taking the bull by the horns

I just posted the following comment under the stop3points video:
Quote:
As a Cole Fusion employee, I would like to know the source of the information for your claim: "This communications technology system will give Cole Fusion complete vast influence over the World Wide Web. The consequences of 3Points on democratic society will be irreversible: Web content will be pay per view. Sites will be restricted and censored. Information will no longer be accessible to all. Online data will become slanted and biased, favouring the interests of corporate stakeholders and investors."
The products we are working on are designed to enhance the quality of modern life… not refashion the World Wide Web!
At the same time, as a person of integrity and a reputable citizen of this city, I have no desire to be a part of hindering accessible and honest communication.
Therefore, you should either be able to substantiate your accusations with solid evidence, or else cease to defame a corporation that is providing employment and production in these difficult economic times.

It is "awaiting moderation." We'll see if they allow it to appear and/or what response they give to it. Smile

OOG Comment:
Is the British spelling 'favouring' the normative style in Canada? (A detail that slipped past the PM's efforts to mask the non-US point of origin, lol)

Yep.
Canadian english is very coloUrful with its use of U's. It can take a lot of laboUr to add in those extra letters, but we think it less lazy, and proper. Wink Sometimes it's quite humoUrous, but quite favoUrable especially in the eyes of teh British (the land from which I hail) - our neighboUrs across the pond. North America boasts an improper flavoUr of english, but rumoUr has is that utilizing your U's is quite honoUrable behavioUr. Don't be so armoUred against it! Here, have a doUGHnut.

Wink

Sorry to be so slow for everyone, I've been away doing "field missions" since Wed night.
I emailed the stop3points asking how I could help and got this back

email wrote:
You specifically have been of interest to us for quite some time, snorkle256. A former associate tried to reach out to you but she didn't have any luck.

We have something important for you to do. We need three other people we can trust and who trust us enough to give us their mailing address.

Are you game?

So anybody do this already that I can count you as one of the 3?

It looks like Kurraga was also asked to provide his mailing address, so that makes 3.
