Uhm, I think Troy said that the second time Seth appeared, he was actually played by himself, but meh.

Yes, Troy was holding the camera then, but Alex clearly refers to the cameraman as Seth.

I still claim the latter that I said in two (of my) posts above.

I'm going to recommend moving TTA Idendity discussion here, so as not to clog up this thread with it.

Because Troy said that Seth was a one time only character, meaning he's ruled out. Also, I know that just because it seems obvious doesn't mean it's ruled out, but I don't know. I really doubt it. Also, yeah, it could mean he's dead, but I think there's more to it. The most unlikely people are the ones who are easily forgettable because they weren't on camera much. In this case, Brian fits that description.

Troy. Never. Said that. He said that he used Seth as a character when filming Entry #9, he never said that he was never going to come back again (As a matter of fact he did come back again.) One should also keep in mind that Troy said in a Q&A that he invented totheark a few days before making the first totheark video, so the idea of totheark was invented after the idea of Seth as a character.

EDIT: Ya sorry, I guess we should move the conversation there, it's just that most people seems to think Skimaski is totheark, so they're using evidence of who totheark is as evidence of who this is.

Actually, Seth isn't a one time character. He's been in the series twice, once as a cameraman in the entry at the gazebo, and once as the cameraman where he and Alex are exploring the boiler room.

All Troy said on the commentary was that he happened to be there at the gazebo entry (he was Sarah's boyfriend), so they used him.

AND probably operating the camera on entry 20.

Jessica
WHy not?

One theory noone seems to be considering is that it is Jessica using an anti-operator mask. She may have ended up at the hotel for this very reason, her interference in the operators affairs with jay. Her motivations for this intial interaction have not been explained, but if she is undergoing the same experience she may have more knowledge of the operator and his abilities.
She's also known to be a native of the area in which entry 40/41 was filmed, which makes her lack of remembrance suspect to the operator's influence.

Hoodie Entry #27

I was re-watching entry #27 and it seems Jay changes hoodies from the beginning on the clip (where it seems more rust colored, to this one which looks close to (but not quite) like the new masked person in #41

I'm going to classify that as OOG, because it absolutely does not make any sense whatsoever to me that Jay went into "NNNNNGH MASK TIME" mode after he ran from The Operator, went back, got the camera, filmed some water and put the camera in the car, then walked away.

Though, that still doesn't explain how the car door opened.

@jjocke, Jay's hoodie, which you can also see in Entry #33 when Jay opens the safe, has a zipper running down the middle of it. (Same with Tim's). This jacket has neither. I just brought this up in another topic but I figure I'll say it here, too.

The hoodie in his shot is a different hoodie then the one in #33. The one is #33 is an entirely different color. We do not get a good enough look at Jay's hoodie in jjocke's shot to tell if it is the same one that the masked person in Entry #41 is wearing. He is a a shot of the one in #33 to compare, they are not the same. http://i1182.photobucket.com/albums/x459/DHawk314/JaysHoodie.png

@Foood - AT the end of #27, when Jay returns to his room, he does unzip his hoodie and take it off, and the new masked person's definitely has no zipper, so therefore you are correct. Different articles of clothing.

I'm going to play devil's advocate here for a moment.

Just because it does not make sense to you personally, doesn't mean that there might not still be some truth to a theory. To write off a piece of evidence as "out of game" offhand because it doesn't fit with your favored theory doesn't really jive with the spirit of speculation around this series.

For example: maybe after Jay ran away and dropped his camera, he wanted to get it back. He'd seen Tim's mask, and then maybe speculated that masks seem to work to deter the Operator, so he either made one up or took out one he'd prepped 'just in case' so he could go back and get his camera.

There are gaping holes in that theory, but the point is less the theory and more the idea that we can't be too quick to write things off as OOG or meaningless, lest something important is missed. The fact that Jay even has a hoodie similar to the one in #41 could be important and should be noted in case it comes up again.

I want to make a note here that I actually do not feel the new masked person is Jay.

I'm totally down with the idea of Jay equipping a mask for that reason. TTA's Return video has Jay's face painted like the Masky mask, and the Operator seemed to ignore him (though I didn't really interpret it that way). If that's how that went down, or at least, how Jay thought it went down, maybe me made a mask. Why he made it look so fucking sad is beyond me, however.
