Quick question:

Is there a point where we swallow our pride and email the SP/PF for a hint,

and if there is, have we reached it yet?

SP hasn't been easy to reach in the past, so I doubt she'll respond to any questions we have about her puzzles. But there's always the Tuesday update, which will certainly give her the opportunity if the PMs feel it is necessary.

Some of the recipe3 wavs we've been stuck on for a while, which gives me the impression the game isn't going to wait up for us.

echolocator? echolocation?

If we go a little bit and make locator -> location, we have a few promising rhymes, like station. Okay, well, there are a lot... probably too many to make it a reasonable way to go. http://rhymezone.com/r/rhyme.cgi?Word=location&typeofrhyme=perfect&org1=syl&org2=l
if anyone wants to take a look anyway.

We need the first part, I think. "forty one" "list of" "many" "lots of" -- which is it?

First letter of each preposition:

11 A's --> K
8 B's --> H
1 F --> A
3 I's --> C
1 N --> A
6 O's --> F
1 P --> A
1 R --> A
4 T's --> D
2 U's --> B
3 W's --> C

Don't know if this helps, but I thought is was worth a try.

My latest is 10-letter word that sounds like preposition and describes where. That uses everything we might THINK of as clues... lots of words, most are 9- and 11-letter atm.... *working*

are we thinking that the lines are actually part of the puzzle or are they just linking the cutebe.gif and langshivel.gif clues?

Arn't all those words also adverbs? I tried bad_words.wav, but that didn't work.

edit: never mind "against" is only a prep

In case people are tuning in late and missed an earlier reference, irc.chat-solutions.org #prepositions for discussion.

Has this idea been tried?
I believe that most of these words can be translated to greek or latin root words.
underneath= sub
without= a,an
over= epi
behind= opistho
against= anti

There are more at this site. (It's one of those annoying about sites)

locators in time and place

I'm also still trying to solve, so I wanted more clarification on what exactly the words are. I got to this website and I think some of the phrases in there we should investigate. Apparently prepositions are "locators in time and place." maybe we have to work with SOUNDS LIKE: Time and Place?

There are no time prepositions in our list. Only where. Correct me if I'm wrong.

You might want to read the webpage I linked. It mentioned at, on, in, and for specifically as being time related. At, on and in can also be location, but it's just as credible to say "I'll meet you at 1:30." There are other examples there.

Now, maybe we have to get rid of the locational prepositions in the list?

The list of words can be found at the Fireflies Wiki .
