Since getting into MH, I've definitely gotten a lot more jumpy about being in a house alone. Doesn't help that every night I wake up between two and four in the AM to run my dogs and feed them. This usually occurs with most of the lights in the house out, with most of my backyard is complete darkness (and lots of blind corners).

Most recently, I was housesitting for my parents this week and was going to watch an bunch of old 80s TV show DVD collections. I started one up, got about twenty minutes into the first episode when the picture went out and the screen went completely blue. Distorted audio/no audio. So yeah...I stopped watching that DVD and made a concentrated effort NOT to look toward the window.

I've also gotten a friend of mine to jump into MH last week, and he's still working on the entries.

Marble Hornets has successfully altered my sleep schedule. Smile
And the sleep schedules of a few of my friends, although one of them thought that masky in Jays bed was hilarious. But she scares me anyway.

Best horror "movie" to date

I have been creeped out and scared before. Mirrors did the best job, making me nervous to be in the bathroom for a month before getting back to normal. BUt that was nothing to Marble Hornets.

Last night I watched the Marble Hornets dvd with a friend. I have never had a movie fully trigger my fight or flight response like this did and on not one but two occasions in the movie: entry 18 when Masky attacks and entry 26 when Slendy appears. Not just a jump moment where I flinch, but felt my blood go cold and all my muscles relax so I could move instantly to save my life. When I got home it was the first time since I was in 2nd grade that I can remember needing to sleep with the lights on and this time with a bat clutched in my hand. I'm pretty sure it'll be awhile before I get some good rest.

Good thread!

I was on a business trip when I found MH. I was in a small town called Port Hardy on the northern tip of Vancouver Island in BC, Canada - nothing but trees and mountains around, in an all-but-deserted musty old motel. To make matters worse, while I am catching up on the entries, a light cover falls off the ceiling onto the table right infront of me!

Lights on, windows closed was how I slept that night! I had to drive three hours through remote forest to get to the airport to get back home!

This stuff does a great job of playing tricks on your mind! I think its the raw filming style, that is not heavy with effects...

You know, if I wasn't following the Memories thread tonight, I probably would have paid less mind, the person who came into tinychat, changed his name to death, and said he was coming for me tonight. And then was followed a while later by ten guests all logging in at once and doing... nothing. Nothing explicitly having to do with MH, but I think it put me in the mood.

Also, John Steinbeck had some creepy eyes. He's staring back at me from my kindle right now.

Slenderman was originally told to me by a young friend of mine, then an older friend linked mento marble hornets. I've literally become obsessed with slenderman since then..^^; even being so terrified I stayed up for a month with the lights on..too afraid to sleep from reading various slenderblogs..^^; I'd see him out of the corner of my eyes, be terrified when it was foggy in the morning and I was taking the trash out, and would not even go near the downstairs part of my house at all, still won't unless people are home. A once point I wouldn't even leave my room..^^;

I'm better now but still slightly scared of having to be at home alone for several hours before I am joined by someone..

It hasn't really altered my life much besides making me check Unifiction every day to see people postulate and present new theories.

Though I will admit, it's made me jump more then once.
I started watching Slenderman in the dead of night.. >.>

Yes, but more about Slenderman in general instead of marble hornets. One night at about 1 pm I was in the bathroom. There was a window about I'd say 10 feet of the ground, so you would need to be very tall to look through it, also the blinds where drawn so no normal person could see me in there, well I look up through a little slit in the blinds and see a featurless face staring at me. Right after I look at it, the head turns away, and the creature walks into the night. The next morning I reilized that a car must have past by with it's head lights on, the light giving a slendy apperance.

I have atypical asthma -- specifically, what's called "cough-variant asthma".

This series has made waking in the night with a coughing fit far more, shall we say, entertaining than it had hitherto been.

Funny this should come up, because Marble Hornets made me a brony. At 2 am and too creeped out to sleep, that's when I broke down and watched MLP:FiM. I figured **** it, it can only help. And it did.

Now, in order to recruit bronies, I play MH first, and so far it is 3/3.

This is eerily similar to my experience. I started watching both Marble Hornets and My Little Pony at the same time. I would watch a handful of entries late at night then watch an episode of MLP as a palette cleanser so I could get some sleep.

MH has effectively made me fear any trees and/or shadows.

for half a month i was convinced i was being watched and would wake up at 5 am like a jack in the box prepared to bolt out my door.

i told my GF and she called me crazy and told me not to watch MH anymore... yeah right XD
