This is a standard quote I've seen on various sites. The only thing that changes from site to site is the "he has chosen... location/venue."

Quote:
JJ Abrams wants you to be the FIRST to see Super 8, and he has chosen FEARNET to show it to you in SEATTLE!!
Please join us for a free early screening on Wednesday, June 8th at 10:00pm at LINCOLN SQUARE.
There will be free popcorn and soda, and a chance to win a Super 8 prize pack! To RSVP, please go to www.Super8Secret.com and enter the password MINT
No purchase is necessary.

Enjoy yourselves folks Cool

Looks like I'll be taking a 2/3 week break from twitter a couple of days early until the initial buzz dies down to stop myself from reading the inevitable unintentional spoilers.

Fingers crossed Paramount UK will be hosting early screenings too.

I wish there were more geeks in Phoenix, so that Phoenix would be a city for this stuff (it never is).

Congrats to all who are going to be able to go...how awesome!

I might go to Orlando... not feeling it though. Overbooking sounds stupid. I live a little bit farther away than comadarkvale.

So we're just supposed to print out the email, right? It doesn't even have my name in the text, or any unique id number or anything.. couldn't people just print out a bunch of these and hand them around, or what?

EDIT: I don't plan on printing out a bunch of these.. just making sure I'm printing the right thing.

When you select print from your email provider, it will list your name as sendee on the email. So, yes, your name will appear on it. If you don't print it, I think you may not be able to enter.

Ah yes, so I just printed them out and saw just that. GMail put my name and email address right on top =) I was just worried cause when I looked at the email itself it didn't say anything specific to me. Thanks for the help!

It's really kind of ridiculous that they have you print it out. They have your name on their list and probably wont even ask to look at your print out. that's what happen at the paranormal activity 2 screening.

Lol.. maybe it's just in case there is a dispute or something? Or it makes it easier to look up your name if they have it spelled out on paper in front of them? Who knows.. might vary from venue to venue too.

It doesn't seem ridiculous at all.

Seeing as this movie is set in SW Ohio near Wright Patt, I'd have thought they would have held a screening somewhere around Dayton, like at the Imax theater in the Wright Patt museum. Would have been cool anyways...

EDIT: Apparently all of the RSVPs are taken as all of the locations have "(FULL)" after them and are shaded grey so you can't even select them. Seems kind of silly to keep the site looking functional.

I'm going to the San Diego screening. Anyone else? What time are you getting there? I had a chance to go to the press one last night but I had other plans already.

Looks like Super 8 is being released a full day early for many movie theaters. Unfortunately only midnight showings in my area.
