So you're telling me a fired bullet hit Alex in the head and yet he's still alive? I'm all but certain the bullet casing was a red herring, or filter.

On the other hand, I refuse to believe Jessica was a red herring. You don't hire a new actress, put her in every entry in the first act of the new series and then disregard them entirely.

Well, a ricocheting bullet doesn't necessarily have to rebound perfectly. Often shrapnel or fragments will smash off the collisions, and those tiny peices could lead to pretty nasty stuff. Or, perhaps the bullet exploded upon collision with the Operator, that would lead to lots of fragments going everywhere. Or the bullet itself could have grazed his scalp.

As for Jessica, I fully agree; it just doesn't make sense to put emphasis on her and go through such trouble, just to be *poof shes gone and will never be mentioned again*. Such a big-lipped alligator moment would just be a waste.

Just because the series is based on the Slender Man mythos that developed on Something Awful does not necessarily mean that this is the exact same thing.

If I recall correctly, the IG posts on the original thread say something to the effect of "Hey, one of my friends had some videos that show something similar to this guy."

It does not necessarily have to be the Slender Man we all created collectively.

This is what I was thinking. Superficial head wounds bleed far more than you'd expect for minor trauma.

Also, I got it about The Operator, I was just curious how no one in the entries has actually named him (excepting the eponymous TTA video) and I was wondering if there would be story revealed about the significance of the name. But just as likely TTA invented it for the rationale everyone has basically put forward.

But that isn't the IG reason he's called the Operator, it's just the IG reason he's not called the Slender Man, if you see what I mean. Out of the whole universe of alternate names that could be applied to that guy, why "Operator"? That's the question.
