Steven [self-described ARG]

I'm not sure how this qualifies as an ARG but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. Received the following link as a tip.

So far, it looks like a series of thought exercises. Maybe submitting a few will reveal something more.

I don't think it has been written yet.

I discovered Alternate Reality Games few days ago and I thought: "This is huge!" It took me few days to churn the idea in my mind and today, June 11 2011 I acted on the idea and STEVEN was born.

STEVEN is really a baby, it has been drafted in a couple of hours
These are enormous warning bells to me. There have been quite a few "BLARGs" that have cropped up on unfiction which were
a. created a few days after the PM discovered ARGs
b. written in a couple of hours
In my experience they have all imploded.

I would invite the PM behind this project to hang around for a while and play (or lurk) a game or two from start to finish. Running an ARG (or any kind of transmedia project) is a massive undertaking, especially if you are doing it solo.

I do agree with the above. On the other hand, I have to wonder whether people are just using the ARG label now for almost any "cool" collaborative real-time story production. If participants go into this without the expectation of being fed a game, and just think of it as an art installation, they could still have fun with it.

All the cool kids are calling it "transmedia" these days. (If I click my shoes together three times and think of home, will vpisteve come in and comment on the term?)
