Seems that a lot of the people that have a beef with RK also have guest status tagged to their posts. What is one to make of this?

Someone has a personal issue with the RK people that is not being spoken? Is that why and how they have the personal information about these people to post?

Are the controversial elements actually RK people trying to stir up the mix in the interest of directing attention to themselves? See here.

If this is a ARG and it is being jumped out of the gate I think many people are going to be angry. See here .

If this turns out to be some kind of new age scam some of those very same people will probably march to Boston, torches in hand ala the movie Frankenstein. Especially if they've gone the distance to defend RK with a position of "innocent until proven guilty".

That is most evident from your obvious lack of knowledge concerning how ARGs are traditionally started, the etiquette in between, like demanding that a game runner "fess up" at the outset and so forth. Your persistence and energy concerning this issue is even more puzzling given your statement. If you don't care then you don't care.
