With a series like Marble Hornets, I'd like it to end with loose ends, at least regarding the Operator. Spoiling the mystery would make re-watching boring.

They'd have to tie up a lot of threads with the nature of the Operator, the ark, and the amnesia/Slendy Sickness (and obviously who the heck Jessica is) but I could see a decent "vicious-cycle" type ending to the story. And I mean a "decent" circular ending, not something cheap, they'd have to set it up pretty carefully.

I kind of want to see something similar to what I posted earlier. It's not an ending, but it would be interesting to see that Jessica was making her own entires of a kind, but not posting them online, like a personal video diary.

Going with that type of ending (or reason to meet Jessica) would work very easily. This is a series that has been going on for a long time, but with all the exabytes of data online it's totally possible that J would not have seen any of it till the 7 month time loss era.

I don't think tying up the operator would make re-watching boring, but it would lower the re-watch value of the series. I would definitely re-watch once or twice to try to catch all the clues, but then it would only be re-watched with a friend who's new to the series.

OT: After watching Smallville and feeling like the end was rushed (awesome, but rushed), and considering how many more entries we probably have, I think a season 3 would be great. A trilogy would be great in this regard because we could really get the characters fleshed out and there's more than enough to work with still. Just my opinion.

I'd be all for a third season, but I don't want to wait another seven months before finding out what's going on. I'd rather we get an ending that lowered the re-watch value than go through another looong hiatus.

I luckily joined after the 7 month hiatus. I don't think I could handle it. I might cry.

Yeah, I hopped on the boat shortly after entry 41, and I've been having trouble waiting for #42. I can't imagine 7 months

So did I, but having become this caught up in all of it, I'd probably go crazy trying to wait that long XD

The problem with this, is that Jessica doesn't have access to Jay's YouTube account. I suppose they could have Jay locate her and give her the password, but that would be more along the lines of Jay willingly wanting Jessica to continue following the mystery, rather than Jessica deciding on her own to investigate what happened to Jay in a similar manner that Jay did to Alex.

I don't really have anything in mind for how it should end, but I definitely know how it shouldn't end:

"And then they all f***ed."

Thanks, 4chan, for presenting the idea. *shudder*

I started right when 40 went up. All cause a friend posted something on his facebook wondering if any of his friends were watching it. The name made me wonder, then I got hooked.

Okay, so, Jay finally finds Alex. They team up and capture Tim/Masky once and for all and drive to the forest where they first saw Slenderman. They go in, dragging Tim behind them, who is tied up with rope. Alex pulls 20 dollars out of his pocket to attract Slenderman, who takes the bait. Once within a few feet, Jay jumps out from behind a tree and tackles Slenderman, allowing Alex to tie him up with some rope. As he stands up, Alex says, "Alright, now lets see who this monster really is!" He unmasks Slenderman, revealing his true identity to be Tim. Jay is confused. He goes over to Masky, takes off his mask, also revealing Tim. Alex proclaims, "What the hell?!" at the sight of the two Tims. Jay then looks at Alex ominously, and then takes off his Jay mask to reveal yet another Tim. Alex gives up and blows his head off with a shotgun. After his suicide, a Tim head grows out of his neck. Then, all the Tims go out for ice cream. The end.

I came up with a new ending that I think we can all get behind.

Jay, Alex, Brian, Tim, Seth, and Sarah all walk into the middle of Rosswood Forest. Seth is filming. They all look relatively nervous, but confident at the same time.

They walk to an empty area, and Alex goes to the center. He takes out a giant horn and plays an extremely loud note that causes all the birds in the trees to fly out into the sky. Several seconds later, Slenderman appears from the depths of the forest. As he slowly makes his way toward the crew, Alex yells "Now!". The camera turns to Jay, who pulls a rope, causing a tall box to fall from a tree above Slenderman. It falls on him, and he is trapped. Without skipping a beat, the rest of the protagonists rush over to the box and begin taping it shut. Cut to several hours later.

Everyone is sitting at the train station reading magazines. Alex comes back from the front desk with all the paperwork filled out, and then they put Slenderman on a train to the North Pole.

The end

A Lovecraftian ending would be fitting. I'm hoping most of the characters suffer an abyssmal fate while one surivor is left to ponder his new existential quandry with the only thoughts to console him being the possibility that his comrades found peaceful oblivion.
