I swear J.J. Abrams is a soldier in one scene marching by.

My Wife thinks she saw Leonard Nimoy
Need Verification

Abrams says viewers should be on the lookout for Leonard Nimoy in the film.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
In a Scene in Charles home - On the TV We think it is playing an episode of in Search of with Mr. Nimoy - Need verification

Someone prove her and I Right or Wrong

Great Film, Not disappointing at all.

Kind of a half-assed verification- I didn't notice the scene, but they did mention In Search Of in the credits, so it probably was

Everyone did get the reference with 'Romero Chemical', right?

Actually I did not, care to explain?

George Romero made the first zombie movies I believe

He did all ____ of the Dead films. (Dawn of the Dead, etc.) A nice little nod to him methinks. Was there any significance to building 47? Is it because of Roswell in 1947? People were laughing when they mentioned that, but it could have been just because they were talking about a mysterious building.

Thought that seemed familiar. But I'm sure it's nothing more than that, familiar.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

The ding-ding you hear on the Rocket Poppeteers main page when is says "Rocketship Fueling" is an audio capture, white noise and all, of the scene when Sheriff Pruitt pulls into the Kelvin gas station.

Also, the cast is listed in order of appearance, Cooper is listed right after Breen, as you first see his face in the reflection of the puddle of gasoline.

Right after Charles and Joe watch the footage from the station and hear the evacuation sirens outside, the next scene a Jeep pulls up full of soldiers. I'm pretty sure JJ is the driver.

The main street has a James Locke Jewlers, it can be seen when they first visit the camera shop. It can be seen all lit up clearly in the final scene when the spaceship is taking off.

One last thing I'm not 100% on, when you see the bike with the milk crate on the handlebars stuck to the water tower, I think I saw a Speak & Spell stuck to the tower right above the bike. Not sure though.

The pin board with all the dog posters, one of the dogs name was Sookie. Maybe JJ likes True Blood? Very Happy

I think it was an Alias/Fringe reference, both of which JJ created, because both shows have featured the number, especially Alias, where Sydney Bristow's main objective was to enter the mysterious Room 47.

Good catch! Upon rewatching, I realized that the main reason people laughed at that point is because there's a musical "bum-bum-bum", not due to 47. Still good to know that Easter egg!

Ahh, i saw it, it was really bad quality but i simply could not wait. As for eater eggs it was actually really hard to make out stuff in the quality i watched would have much perferred to watch it in the cinema, really sucks Sad. But the movie was great!

Still dont 100% get why the needle was significant.

I did see something at the very biggining. I doubt it is significant i have to post a screencap but i'm not so sure i should (because of copyright)

Just watched for the 3rd time and Nimoy is on In Search Of. Right after Joe and his dad have the talk about him not being able to see Alice any more. Joe is talking to Charles on walkie-talkies and In Search Of is playing in Joe's house.

There's Leonard standing by a car, mustache and all. Very Happy

at one point they refer to somebody by what sounded like "brekken" and I immediately thought of "Braegen14" need to watch again and keep my ear out for it... also I'm assuming that Josh Minker was one of the kids son after his dad would have needed to change name/identity after the military saw them running around post-evac. And finally, if you watch some of the previews of Falling Skies you can see a very Super8-esque alien with the spider legs and all! Spielberg production so I'm not surprised but we should have known to look there for hints at the alien!

I wondered about that too. Then i thought, what if Josh's mom was never married and had Josh on her own. Do we have confirmation that his dad lived with him? Minker could have been her maiden name.

Also - When they are talking/reading about Dr. Woodward didn't they mention his name was Dr. AM Woodward? Wouldn't that confirm the initials we determined from the photo files?

The Truck and The Train

Okay i have read some reviews about "how can a truck destroy a whole train" and i know sometimes this can be true but i have come up with a theory it has some spoilers in it, i'll put a note where they are.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The Truck collides with the train now we know they were using some chemical to keep the alien calm only disarming it during "the feeding regiment".
However my guess is all the truck did was destroy the thing that was putting the chemical into the train carriage (this can be seen in the Portal 2 interactive trailer).
So now the alien is waking up, we know he has some sort of power over metal, the alien is confused and before he can break out he destroys the train either out of confusion or trying to kill anything that might stop it from escaping.
NOW THIS IS THE BIT WITH SPOILERS OF THE MOVIE
Mr Minker says he has a connection with the Alien. So the alien knew he was in this truck and tried to move the truck further away out of harms way
Thus explaining why the truck sort of moved

Sorry it's a bit long, but try and read see if you agree
