Alex didn't even know Slendy was in the woods.

Actually I think he did. Why else would he tell Jay to get out NOW?

Then why does he act surprised when Jay tells him that the Operator was there? There are a lot of reasons why Alex wanted Jay out of the woods, for example, I don't know, maybe he wants to find Amy fast and not to go pointlessly hiking in the woods looking for a retarded kid

See, when Alex said, "That thing is in there," he sounded (to me) less surprised and more... I don't know, definitive? Maybe I'm just hearing his vocal inflections wrong.

it sounds like a question, to be honest. I mean he does ask Jay what he was running from, if Alex knew he probably wouldn't ask such questions.

He sounded a little freaked out. To me, it was more of an 'are you KIDDING ME?' moment.

EDIT: 'He' being Alex while he was questioning Jay. Definitely sounded like he just wasn't ready to deal with that. Like it was the icing on a **** Day Cake.

Jay answers to Alex like it was a question, "A couple of miles in, but yeah."

Sorry to be rude, but sounds to me it's pretty obvious that Alex didn't know or less likely is hiding that he does know.

Fair enough. Like I said, that was just how it sounded to me, and it's possible that I was hearing the inflection differently than how it was meant.

My next question, rather unrelated, would be: if Alex didn't know that Rosswood Park was significant, why would he ask Jay to meet him there? If it was just to ask him for help with finding Amy, why not just meet at a burger joint or something?

I think there is some big significance in woods but that doesn't automatically mean Slendy would be chilling out there. There probably is something in the woods but I don't really like theorizing all that much so I don't really think much about it. And they are going to a hotel together hotgaysex so they could've talked there.

Though as much as I hate this idea, Alex could've known that the Operator was there but just lied to Jay about not knowing or acting like he didn't know about it.

No hotgaysex? Good grief, why am I even still watching?

And yeah, I'm not terribly crazy about the idea of Alex maliciously leading Jay into a trap either. If his motivation is actually to find Amy, and he wants Jay to help him, it doesn't make sense that he'd want to harm him in any way.

Then again, that's assuming that he actually does want to find Amy and that he wasn't lying about that as well and oh dear I've gone cross-eyed.

i'm assuming it's just a coincidence, but what color hoodie did the random dude listening to headphones in the woods have?

i forget which entry, and i know it's a far-fetched thingy. but it's just a fun thought

I want to say his hoodie was green or blue - some dark colour.

::goes back to check:: Yup. Blue-purpleish.

I don't think the hiker has any significance to the story. To me he was just put int to show Jay's paranoia.

WHERE has Troy said that Seth wasn't a major character? People cite it like fact, but I've never seen the original statement by Troy, and I follow Troy's blog, I'm subscribed to his youtube (and watched the videos therein), and I follow him on twitter. It's hard for me to believe this.

In the DVD commentary, it was said that Seth's actor was added in at the last second. People think that for some reason, this means he's vanished forever and can never come back.

THANK YOU. Well, see what I miss out on for being so poor I can't afford a simple DVD? Still, I'd say you're right. Seth's late and sudden addition doesn't mean he's never going to come back. You'll note that his first appearance is the video that the first TTA response was made to. Perhaps TTA was a last minute addition, too? I don't know, it's possible. I don't know how hard they planned in those first 10 or so entries.

And regarding the discussion going on above me, I'd say that Alex knows that Rosswood was a center of Operator-related activity, but wasn't expecting him to be there that day. So, when he hears that Jay was in there, he's concerned, and when he hears that Jay actually saw the Operator, Alex is taken aback. He's concerned for his friend, but initially angry that Jay took the hike because it was an inconvenient hike into potentially life-threatening territory when he has more important stuff that he wants to discuss.

This. Alex must have a reason for meeting Jay at Rosswood, that reason probably got kiboshed when he found out Jay had run into the Operator - at least for the moment. Whatever Alex was going to do suddenly became too dangerous, or he knew that Jay was too fragile at that moment to push into doing anything but leaving. I think Alex might be playing some Xanatos Speed Chess against the operator and his "team" and likely Jay's naive investigation into what is going on.

As for Alex's cell phone call to Jay, and the emphatic "NOW", I think that's just the fact that Alex doesn't suffer fools easily. We can go all the way back to Entry #9 to see that. Even if Alex just thought Jay was being a doofus and going on a nature trail (rather than Alex being knowledgable about the Operator being in the woods), I can see Alex getting peeved with Jay. He's a director after all.
