 		The Tron movement is dead
didn't know where else to put this
I know many of you feel the Tron franchise is dead or at least dying. Many of us have moved on and rarely come by here anymore. I disagree. Tron is here and staying!

As further evidence from what we all already know, ElecTRONica has been extended AGAIN! For those of you in SoCal or planning to come to SoCal, EleTRONica has been extended until Spring 2012.

Not to be negative, but I am thinking a major reason that ElecTRONica is staying is that its bringing in a lot of money via drinks/food, just like glowfest did. And I take it Disney likes the money these night time street parties are making, so they want to continue them. I'm thinking that it might just be a matter of wanting a street party and ElecTRONica delivering profits similar to glow fest, so they see no reason to spend the money to rebrand the night time street party.

 		many of the people there are under age. Many are just there for the games. But if it was just food and drinks, glowfest would do fine. Thing is,people have a special connection to cyberspace and tron fits that theme. So in my opinion it lives and will continue to do so even if more movie never get made.

 		I agree with Steve. I have been to ElecTRONica many times, and it is a great way for TRON fans to be a part of the phenomena. I have seen a ton of attendees wearing Flynn Lives and 89 Forever printed t-shirts and jackets, and some people even regularly attend in their homemade TRON suits. For me, it's doubly good in the way that I am a huge TRON fan, AND I'm into the b-boying/breakdancing/popping scene too, so I get to let loose in those circles(dance) and show people how I get down!

 		I'm surprised they allowed them in wearing costumes, disney is highly against adults in costumes in the park.

 		It's not dead, it's been gone to sleep until fresh, new news. A lot happened last year, so in comparison, yeah, this year's empty.

But people are still here, so I guess it's not dead. Smile

Hmm, that's really interesting! Disneyland must have different guidelines. I'll have to keep that in mind if I get to go out there this year.

I've never gotten stopped at Disney World for being in costume and the only time I've ever seen any other adult get stopped is if they had a full face mask. But I've never gone in as a Disney Character either so that could be a big factor. I see a young adult or grown women in a prom-type gowns with tiara and sash every few times I go; and they are no beauty queens.

Two weekends ago I was there in costume for Star Wars Weekends. (Multi layers of black fabric, in May, in Florida ... not the brightest thing I've ever done.) There had to be 100s of other adults in costumes as well.

 		Disney is a business, and I'm sure they're gonna keep it open as long as its making money and they don't need the space for something new.

Regardless of possible future sequel plans, I think that they probably need to keep it going to keep some kind of buzz alive for the upcoming animated series since it doesn't start until mid 2012.

At DL it might be as long as they don't think it's a full character costume.
