I'll be the first to throw in my towel, officially. For whatever reason, our contact with the story has disappeared. Maybe we just didn't catch on fast enough.

I think this game died out over a month ago. It was either a legitamate game or someone screwing around I think now that I look back on everything. Shame. The story was actually a pretty intriging even if it was someone messing around, I had fun while it lasted. Up till we hit the numbers that didn't translate into anything.

This game is... Dead Jim.

This is probably not of importance any longer but I'll post it anyway.

I was in Rome during the weekend, and visited Villa Borghese, a large mansion with a lot of art in it. Imagine how surprised I was when I look upon a painting, and see that its title is Lucrezia.

The painting consists of a women, in black and holding a dagger close to her heart. Her face is a mask of sorrow and she looks depressive.

Don't recall who painted it, but if you google it - you probably find it.

Over and out!

Lucrezia's a pretty famous Italian name, though. Lucrezia Borghese was one of the notorious Borghese family but there's also the mythlogical Roman Lucrezia who killed herself after being raped to preserve her honour. Or hell, the PM may just be a FFVII fan.

late note on the missed CAPPED puzzle that led to mbox.txt
seems like this code has been removed.
the page that is showing dosnt seem to be a Real "placeholder" but an html copy that kept the tags to look the same and provide a base for the (overlooked) clue. the copyright at the bottom of the page still reads 2003. this puzzle/arg/thingy seems stone dead. maybe rebuilding, reinforcing, or just frustrated into giving up.
