 		 Questions and goofs about super 8 ( spoiler alert )
have you seen the movie this is the place to post your questions and or goofs
How ???

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The super 8 cam falling down,and aiming to trains oposite driving direction... The kids running towards the direction the train is driving... after the train is crashed Joe sees how the door is blowing open... how the hell could the super 8 cam recording, the monster crawling towards the cam ???? the cam was still aiming to the direction the train came from !!!

 		Perhaps some debris from the crash knocked it around a little? I've only seen the movie once, so I may be wrong.

I was left wondering why, if this alien has such a "psychic" connection with humans, did he abduct Alice for dinner?!?! He had to have sensed her innocence... It worked for Joe?!?...

Although I was very happy with the movie, it was obvious that it was two completely different films rolled into one. The ending left a little something to be desired, but "The Case" made up for it!

maybe it's not a "complete" connection with the alien, it might only share surface thoughts and emotions. Looking at it this was it may only have felt her anger and sadness towards her father and her fear towards it, so not the sort of emotions or thoughts that would give it a revelation.

Joe was focusing on a very clear concept with strong emotions connected to it (that in order to heal you have to move on from what hurt you, you can't dwell on it), it was his message rather than his innocence which made the alien change it's mind about killing them.


At least that's how I see it

I don't think Coop took anyone for dinner or killed anyone at all. I think he was just trying to find someone to communicate with or to help him. Even at the end when he snatched back the two people trying to escape I don't recall seeing him actually kill anyone. One of the kids says "It took her. I don't wanna be next!" I didn't actually hear anyone say anything about them being dead. Did I miss something?

The Cube couldn't look like something that hadn't been released to the public yet.
The Alien cubes were said to look similar to a Rubik's cube . Uh how did the
Kid know about a Rubik's Cube when the Toy was not released to the Public until a year later.

There's a whole list of goofs including that one on imdb, but I'm not letting 'em get in the way of enjoying the film! Maybe it takes place on a slightly altered timeline...wooosh!

 		I hope noone minds that I fired this thread up again, I only just saw the movie(and I love it!).
But what I've been trying to work out is this:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
During the scene where Joe confronts Cooper.
Cooper appears to actually speak to Joe. So I was wondering if anyone had been able to understand what Cooper says?
This is what it sounds like to me..
After Joe says 'Go! You don't want to be here, go!'..'We undestand'.
Cooper rears up and looks taken aback. Then it sound to me like he says 'What!?'
Joe says 'But not everyones horrible'.
Then when Cooper grabs Joe I think he says 'So you're Joe' (maybe Cooper know this from making contact with Alice. Which kind of reinforces the theory that Coopers telepathy focuses on strong emotions).
Joe says 'I know bad things happened'..'Bad things happen'.
Cooper says 'Thats true'.
Joe says 'But you can still live'..'You can still live'.
Cooper says 'you're special' Then opens his eyes, looks at Joe and says 'Joe'
Coopers machine Fires up, he looks away then back at Joe and that I believe is the end of their little heart to heart.

So what do you guys think? Is Cooper speaking English or what?

Ps. I would totaly ask Cooper to take me with him. He's awsome!

Ok I've been thinking. We only see Cooper open his eyes to look at Joe (A gesture of respect?) . So anyway, if hes been running round with his eyes closed, how does he know where hes going?
The scene on the bus where Cooper kills Nelec gave me the impression that Cooper might use echo location, (like bats) 'cos hes making all that noise. But when hes like less than a meter away from Nelec, his tone changes and the oscillation (I think thats the correct term) slows. Plus he is said to be subterranean and there not much in the way of natural light under ground.
Whats the reckoning?
