Oh Nimbus you silly... don't you know that our job is to tell you everything that could be improved (every... little... thing... there is... even some that don't exist) and your job is to ignore all the things we say that don't matter?

That's how art is made! And destroyed! With more art!

It wasn't even all that bad. I noticed for all of five seconds before the immersion kicked in and I was excited about the story again. Your parents did better than some professional actors, if you ask me.

I'm glad you brought this up because I am confused.I thought that this board had a policy against any 'creator' participating or commenting in or on their own vlog/arg/whatever,as it creates a conflict of interest.This is just a GENERAL question by me and not meant to be taken as a statement against any creator or their presence--I'm merely curious..... Confused

I think they let him do this because his series his popular, therefore the rules don't apply to him.

As far as I can tell, yeah. I think it's unfair, but I guess those in power disagree.

The keyword here is "think".

I think the hand gestures were much more naturalistic than thier vocal performances. Many people do actually wave there hands around like that. It was the fact that they sounded like they were reading that really took me out of it. I've found when working with non-actors it's better to tell them to try and memorize the gist of the lines, and not worry about getting things dead letter perfect, especially if they are of a certain (bifocaled) age or have some other trouble cold reading.
Sadly, I think we are going to see a lot more bad acting comeing our way in the near future, with more and more indie films simply selling roles to people.

I'd been wondering about this myself, but I've already said far too much about TT to then turn around and bring *this* up. ^^;

Yeah, the acting wasn't very good. Which is a shame since the acting in the previous couple videos was fine.

The rules apply to everyone.

I have spoken to Nimbus about this transgression.

Well--like I said in my previous post--my query had nothing to do with personalities or specific people--I was just confused and when you add to that the fact that I just came from ANOTHER thread where someone was being chastized for posting and commenting on their own works--not only is it not FAIR--but it also has to be pretty confusing.I am glad that I was not the only one who noticed this and that something has been done to rectify it. Smile

I don't have a problem with Nimbus or others interacting on a semi-distanced basis with the board. It's generally harmless fun.

That being said, it's true we have the rules, and this is still a space for critical discussion of these series - and I don't mean criticism strictly in the sense of 'negative criticism,' I mean each person simply bringing their subjective perspective and commentary to the table. If we don't do that, there is no discussion. Sometimes that's going to be critique, and yeah, things like the performance will come up. I had a long-winded response to the discussion a page or two ago about that video, and while I wouldn't want anyone to bash Nimbus' parents, I do think people have a right to comment on the video and those aspects of it. I think as long as people respond thoughtfully and respectfully to stuff, there shouldn't be anything to worry about. And I'd hate to see Nimbus disappear from the forum entirely over this.
