Sorry, not discussing OOG stuff. Especially not on here.

At some point, I actually guessed we might see every player that vanished/died in the climax, but I have come to terms with the fact this may never happen. It would be interesting though, as the indications of Jessa's last cameo were quite intriguing and disturbing.

Anyways, one thing I was thinking about reg. the PW is that Shade is the writer of the work in Pale Fire - what if Shade is a metaphor for Jeff? And the PW is actually Kinbote? It would be simpler than what we thought after all...

I'm pretty sure Jessa was a dead issue a while ago. She is either dead or a Slendyshade of some sort at this point.

I tried both "palefire" and "kinbote" on the mediafire, not that I think it is necessarily any kind of literal password. No dice. The question is password to what, or who, in what sense.

So we haven't really done much analysis of FRA's video yet, have we?

The last we heard from him was this:

FullRoundAction wrote:
Okay plenty drunk. Callin a cab in a few. Will grab camera when I get home.

Sequence01.wmv opens with FRA stumbling over to what is presumably his truck, opening the door, and pulling out a bag containing what is revealed to be a six pack of quality beer. I assume he wouldn't have left that sitting out in the truck while he was at the bar, taking a a cab back and forth, so we either have a clue or a tiny continuity error between his post and the video. For what it's worth, I'm betting on continuity error.

He pulls the bag from the floorboard, and we see some sort of white computer-y cable in the seat. Anybody recognize what it is? It's probably not important, but it never hurts to painfully scrutinize every detail.

Most interesting to me is the dialogue here: FRA opens the door and immediately says, "Fuck." As he's taking the bag, he says "Shit." I wonder if this might be important.

Speculation: When FRA went to his truck at the beginning of the video, he didn't go just for the beer. He was also intending to pick up Box 6, which he'd left safe in the truck. (Possible continuity restorative: He brought the beer home with him in the cab, dumped it in the truck when he checked to make sure the box was still where he'd left it--and it was--and went inside to get his camera.) He comes back out and finds that the box isn't where he'd left it.

He's surprised and pissed, and the script he had planned out in his head is ruined, but above everything else he wants to remain a cool customer on camera. That's why there's no narration telling us what's going on, beyond the "Fuck. Shit." that slipped out.

That's all I got so far. Thoughts?

( Oh, and the bit at the very end still doesn't look like somebody being pressed against the screen door to me. To my eyes, it looks like the roommate has just come to and is slowly standing up from where he'd been knocked out on the floor just inside the screen. Never mind, I'd been going by the screenshots, since I never could pick it out in the video itself. I finally saw it, and now I have no idea what to think.)

Three people is too many to be a series of gamejacks, not that I believed GF was one.

In an OOG sense,

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Slayerboy lives close enough to the Hybrids that introducing the Rake costume into his videos probably wouldn't be a chore.

If they're all real - and let's assume for a moment that they are - it is a brilliant move. It's what I'd have done with GreenFeathers, first of all, to heighten the sense of danger for the audience.

Yeah, I'm actually really liking them having the people who've met them/gotten involved somehow get sucked into everything too. It fits the whole NO ONE IS SAFE idea.

First GreenFeathers, then FRA, and now this guy? It's too odd...GF disappears shortly after the videos go up on his channel (which was unused until then IRC), which happens after he meets the boys. FRA, who until now has wanted to win the Trials by any means possible (as seen in his answer to trail 6), makes a video where he is, if not killed, then at least taken down by something, implying that HABIT won their little stand-off. And now we have someone who made contact with the boys dreaming about something that is definitely not anything we've seen before.

It's too weird to be gamejacks. But...they haven't really affected the game yet either so...I don't know.[/i]

got a response from the crew

i sent the crew an email yesterday with all the info i posted here about the password, pale fire, and "pity."

today i got this response:

"Oh, yes. Pale Fire. You know, I heard that it actually inspired House of Leaves, for obvious reasons.

That makes a lot of sense and it's a shame that this guy, Noah, had to be dragged in, too. I mean, we've spoken to him briefly before online, but never anything of much substance. Like you said... it seems that you've managed to "decode" whatever the hell this piece of paper is... but what does it actually unlock?

This summer is dripping by at an unbearable pace. I feel like we've managed to accomplish absolutely nothing and then I merely blink and three weeks have gone by, then a month, then two.

Thanks for the heads-up... I guess we'll see what happens. -Jeff"
