I think they healed it so it would be noticable when it happened again.But they didn`t really make a big deal about it.

Who was the girl that got killed? I'm pretty sure her name is Larissa (hence the title) but I have no memory of her ever being mentioned beforehand. There was no build-up either. Just Amy getting chased by Slendy, an awkward cut, then suddenly Amy is talking to someone who immediatelly gets killed off. Can someone explain it more clearly?

Other than that, I love the series so far. I just found out about this series yesterday. The two of them are great actresses, which is good to see. A bit lacking in the Slenderman effects, but it still maintains a sufficiently creepy atmosphere. In shows like EMH I'm mostly just interested in what will happen, but I found myself getting legitimately worried about these characters, especially with the rate other characters are disappearing/dying.

Amy's pondering some investigative action when she notices that she's not alone and bolts from the room. She runs into a girl who is probably Jake's sister and presumably named Larissa, who asks where the homeowners are. Amy covers, because "Oh, probably dead like your brother" is not very tactful. Girl apparently accepts this, and on her way out asks who the guy outside is. Amy realizes what this means and runs to stop her, but lo, the girl has already been killed.

Since there's nothing stopping him from popping up wherever they go, awake or sleeping, I think the message is that if the Slenderman & co. had wanted TJ or Amy dead, they'd be dead--swift, sudden, no matter how fast they ran.

As for Larissa not being mentioned earlier in the series, it's frowned upon in fiction, but it is realistic. How many people do you know who just wouldn't come up if you were telling others about the freakjob stalking you?

I think Larissa was handled just fine, and very realistically. There isn't much reason for her to have made an appearance before this point. One major complaint that I have noticed always coming up with the Slendervlogs is that we don't see him do all that much. He isn't particularly violent. However, in this case he is. He wipes out an entire family with little reason or motivation. If anything, the fact that they exist is his motivation. There is still a reason to fear that man in a suit.

Thanks for the explanations, I wasn't mad about bad storytelling or anything, the whole sequence just confused me. I've got a better grip on it now.

I guess I'm just used to shows like EMH and TT where everything that happens gets explained to the viewer. We have to put the pieces together for TJA, which isn't a bad thing.

Discovered this vlog last night, after I decided to visit this section (I mainly lurk in the Marble Hornets board). Between then and this evening, I watched all the entries, and kept up with discussion in this thread along the way.

Quite impressed with this series. I'm quite interested in seeing how this series goes from where it is now.

In response to the latest entry, someone mentioned how odd the sudden rescue of Dahlia felt, which suddenly reminded me of a section from House of Leaves, where Truant is describing how he was staying with some friends, and he was encouraged to see a psychiatrist, who treated his madness, and had him take pills, and Truant was getting healthier, and was happier, and better off. Things were going well for him...then he revealed that that entire bit of narrative was a lie, something he'd made up on the spot, that there never was a doctor, he had no friends. Made me suddenly think that this bit of narrative was a lie, but, given the format, it obviously isn't. Just something that made me think.

Anyway, I like that this series has its unique protagonists, instead of relying upon Slender Man and other pre-established creatures. "Blindy" and "Bird/Plague Doctor" are quite effective.

I'm really curious and speculative about the Jake and Amy narrative.

I think (and I believe everyone already has) assumed that Jake was the bird...which is apparently a Proxy(but for Sight?)

Did anyone else get the feeling that Amy is getting primed to be the next one?
