I just got my envelope (i'm on team silver). Same contents as everyone else... Note and helicopter with led.

I'm only on page 29 so bear with me but... are a lot of people getting calls and emails?
Also are we just waiting for the countdown to be over now (about 6 days to go...)?

This is my first arg (i actually signed up to unfiction like 5 minutes ago) so if i'm asking something obvious and stupid feel free to correct me. Very Happy

Yep. That's it at the moment. Waiting for countdown and exploring possibilities with all the media we've been given so far. Nothing conclusive it seems apart from Wrigleys and 42E's involvement.

Oh no...come back, fellhawke! All we want is pics of the fabulous swag!

As for phone calls...I know I've seen a few mentions of missed calls from 916 numbers. Can anyone relay details of an actual pickup? (Sorry if I missed it!)

Also has anyone speculated that the diode may actually be quite important, for... Something.
I mean, the packaging was ridiculously padded for something like this... Unless they really wanted the diode to arrive to people intact?

Like... does anyone remember those alien toys from a few years ago... the kid had to hold his alien up to their webcam and the flashing light would activate the on screen alien...
Could the diode possibly be a way of gaining access to a site? (sort of like using it as a key?)

Fellhawke was the only one who had a pickup with the 916 numbers, I believe, but there was at least one other person who said they received an email.

I think that if the LED was a "key" for anything, it would have to be more real life than online, there's no way we could use it with our computer screens, unless I'm mistaken.

1981 birth year

Also, just a silly thought... for the birthday year that has been randomly (or not) changed to 1981... this would make "30" years... also, conclusive with the countdown clock on missionicefly.com which counts down to the 30th ?

This is also my first ARG and what led me to this site, and seeking out other ARGs Smile

My date of birth didn't change (still 1995).

Also i know this is slightly off-topic but... Are there any other arg's that are just starting out, that i could get involved in?

I'm in the UK, got a team chrome packet and didn't have my date of birth changed. My normal birth year is 1985, if that helps at all.

Imp, have a look around the news and rumours forum. Just see what takes your fancy. New ARGs are starting all the time, there's always something to jump into. Smile

Also got a silver envelope (double blue leds + flyer) and had a faulty birthdate.
I mailed the support-mail address concerning the birth-year but there hasnt been a reply and I didnt check whether or not they changed it yet.

My guess is that if the 1981 problem we are experiencing does only concern early subscribers, it might have been a bug in the system.
I signed up about a day after this thread was created, how about the others with birthyear 1981?

@imp
There are a lot of args going around. Some that have started up lately are :
Quote:
* 8-3-11
http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=32583
not much known about this one, except that it has references to numbers stations; started a few days ago; probably indie
* Howard Fair
http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=32351
themes are magic, poems, riddles
has progressed a bit already but it should still be quite easy to catch up
* Interdimensionalgames part 2
http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=28896&start=1155
(runs in the same thread as part 1 for now; mostly flash based)
theme is an interdimensional gateway with which players communicate with the future of an alternate universe and an AI made out of 21 human brains
If you want to know the entire backstory, there's a lot of reading to do, but there are also short summaries in the thread.
Part 2 is still in the startup phase, so its not that hard to catch up
* World Robot Boxing (WRB)
http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=31834
theme : promo for the film Real Steel with Hugh Jackman
Also from 42E like this game. You missed a few chances to get achievement but it's still possible to sign up and participate.

* unspoilered - no need to spoiler this type of info; -thebruce ; )

Haven't read much of the thread, but this isn't anything that relates to anything (unless there's other Canadians here who have already said this), so...

Curses... Postal service strike up here in the Great White North, and I don't think the ID badges and whatever-else got out beforehand (either that or I'm just not one of the lucky ones), so chances are the game will be over before I get my badge... Ah well, I can still display it with pride as an artifact of a game that I at least tried to get in on from the beginning...

I'm getting a little concerned here, folks. I signed up maybe over two weeks ago, and my friend got her package, but I still haven't gotten any packages, phone calls, emails, etc, etc. I know it can't be because of age, my friend is younger than I and got her stuff.

Also, checked my DOB, year is still '93.
