^This; as lame as it is. But considering LK's subscribed to the big 3, we should find out if he's a forum-level fan

Not saying I'm proud of that, but he did open me up to (What i believe) to be the best slender series on YouTube.

Found MH in "the scary thread" on The Escapist, I decided I wanted to check it and got hooked!
Luckely I watched it after the 7-months break.

I can't remember if I posted in this thread yet (says I haven't) but anyway--I love creepy/scary/disturbing stuff and horror in general and one cold, snowy winter day--I Googled "creepy stuff" and found a link to a board that was for fans of the Washington Redskins,of all things,LOL.Anyone who loves to look at creepy shit should check it out here:http://www.extremeskins.com/showthread.php?273425-Post-Something-Creepy&s=377cc0d6a39f5c6fad56f02d9431bc6f

Anyway--I spent right many hours on there and someone had posted "Entry #31" so I clicked the link, not realizing what it was.The person who originally posted it didn't give any kind of description.I started watching it and was intrigued, and not far into it--it kinda dawned on me that this was a part of something bigger.I had never heard of an ARG,Slender Man,Vlog Series or the like.I stopped watching entry #31 not long into it and went to the Marble Hornets channel and started watching from the beginning.I bless the serendipity of that day because the discovery of Slendy/ARGS/Vlogs and these forums has definitely been quite the ride and awesomely entertaining.I cannot believe all this existed and I never knew about it until that cold afternoon. Cool

I watched a video on Joystiq about a Haunted Majora's Mask cartridge. Watched all of those videos and got creeped out. Once that got to a certain point, the guy doing it admitted he was trying to build an ARG and was inspired by Marble Hornets.

So I googled Marble Hornets. The rest is history.

I found out about Slenderman pretty early, only a few months after the SA topic regarding him. Looked through the whole topic, got pretty creeped out by some of the more creative pictures there, and forgot about it for some time.

A while after that I was browsing the Paranormal/Conspiracy board on GameFAQs (which I no longer visit) and found a topic about a creepy video series on YouTube, along with a huge debate on whether it was real or not. So I checked it out. I actually missed the Operator in the first video (I was looking at the lawn, shut up) but once I realized what was actually going on I got hooked. I've been watching the series since Entry #13 or so, with the exception of a slight hiccup when the second season started. When Jay pulled the "I lost my memory" plot twist I got pretty cheesed and quit the series for a few more months.

But it dragged me back Very Happy I realized that they got into Jay's lost months rather quickly and I got hooked much bigger and better than before. I re-joined the series at around Entry #39 and finally decided to get an account here.

EDIT: I've seen that Majora's Mask series too. Creepy as hell. Is the story still up anywhere?

On Halloween of 2010, someone posted about Marble Hornets and EverymanHYBRID on the forums for a game called Blockland. That's where I found out about Slenderman, and from there I discovered his other myths and eventually found this lovely place.

I remember that I started paying attention to Marble Hornets during the seven month hiatus and thinking it was over for good. Entry 27 was a very pleasant surprise for me.

So, I was reading a Cracked article about 8 Creepy Video Game Urban Legends (That Happen to be True), and the #8 spot went to Super Mario Galaxy 2 and the legend of "The Shadow People of Hell Valley." Basically, in a certain level, no matter where you are, if you look up and at an angle, in the distance there are these silhouettes of tall people watching you. In the article, the author compares them to the Slender Man mythos, and provides a link to the Mythical Creatures Guide entry for Slender Man.

I was hooked.

I started googling Slender Man, and eventually found myself at the MH Introduction video.

I'm not sure when I first saw Slenderman images, probably around the first time I visited /x/. As for Marble Hornets, I came into the series after it was well into its second season by way of LittleKuriboh (the guy who makes Yu-Gi-Oh! The Abridged Series). I first learned of the podcast Wha-Chow from him and I've been listening to it for several months now and, on a recent show, he mentioned Marble Hornets and...yeah, that's how I ended up watching.

THAT'S THE EXACT ARTICLE THAT MADE ME START INVESTIGATING HIM!

Ahem. Cracked is fun like that, huh?

Read the name Marble Hornets on a "Creepy things from the internet" thread on another message board, watched like the first thirty something entries in one sitting. It's that captivating. Haha.

Was being a SummerFag Lurker on 4chan, someone in /x/ said that it was good, and I though 'well, I don't have anything better to do today'. Watched the first half one day and the second have the next day (Up to the end of the 1st 'season', which is where it had stopped at that point) After I finished watching it I couldn't get to sleep that night. The moral of this story is that when you're an impressionable Teen/Young Adult, don't sit through an entire Horror Series in two days. Especially when said series is about a supernatural boogeyman that finds you, stalks you, and then quite possibly rips you apart and/or eats you.

Yeah, you did it in two nights? I first found out about this through a friend of mine online. And then I decided to watch ALL the videos (Entry 1 - Entry 43) in ONE SITTING from about 3am - 6am. I had been awake for nearly 24 hours at this point. Not. A. Good. Idea. (or was it? xD)

My dumb friend called me at like 9 at night after watching the Rose Bowl to go to his house, where he proceeded to force me to watch all of Marble Hornets.

I flipped out when I saw that article! I think I was already into Slenderman at that point, but I can't remember if I was into MH yet.
