Same code as last time. Says 'trail elsewhere'.

I forget... Was it a simple substitution cypher or something more complex?
How did we solve it, again?

Just put it into the DEC section here:

Thanks!
Also, so does this message mean that the answer isn't in the blog clues? Or is it just an isolated red herring? What do you think?

I'd normally say it means we're looking in the wrong direction, but in this puzzle, what we've been given just seems all over the place, so I don't know. My best idea is that the list of clues we were given to fill in should contain 1 thing that Leonardo invented for each word, each corresponding to a particular field of his work.
My guesses on the fields:
Module 1: Flight/Space
Module 2: Philosophy
Module 3: Light/Life (could be 'solarpower' or 'earthshine')
Module 4: 'Epic Six' (could be 'lessons'; he wrote a list of six)
Module 5: Music (could be 'lyre'; He made one)
Module 6: History
Module 7: Travel
Module 8: Art

Wow! that's a great theory!
Da Vinci does seem to be all over the place with this, so it really does make sense. Although, he did more than invent, so perhaps we should widen out a bit, there.
The only thing I see with it that might be a problem is that some of the items (philosophy and art, for instance) could be used to describe so much of what Da Vinci did. However, since we're working with set amounts of blanks here, that might be what we use to figure those out. I'll take a look into each of them.

Ok, I'm just gonna make one post here for this.
I will update this post whenever I (or anyone else) finds a Da Vinci related thing that fits the topic and character count of one of the items. I'll also put a character count of the spaces on each one for easier matching.
Module 1: Flight/Space: P A R A C H U T E = 9
Module 2: Philosophy: R O B O T I C K N I G H T = 13
Module 3: Light/Life: S O L A R P O W E R || E A R T H S H I N E = 10
Module 4: 'Epic Six': L E S S O N S = 7
Module 5: Music: L Y R E = 4
Module 6: History: _ _ _ _ _ _ _ = 7
Module 7: Travel: B A L L B E A R I N G = 11
Module 8: Art: _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ = 11
--Reasoning--
1: Da Vinci designed a parachute. That kind of fits in with "flight"
2: Another long shot: Da Vinci supposedly created an android based on the human anatomy. Creating a robotic person certainly would have philosophical implications.
3: See Twiler's post two above this one↑↑
4: See Twiler's post two above this one↑↑
5: See Twiler's post two above this one↑↑
6:
7: If you read "travel" to mean any kind of movement, ball bearings, another of Da Vinci's inventions, kind of fits. Probably not right, though.

Nuts, I was so hoping that this would be it.
but...
I can't find a single Da Vinci painting with 11 characters in the name. Unless there's one I'm missing, or perhaps something else Da Vinci did that would relate to art somehow, I doubt that this is the solution.
Really great idea, though.

Yeh, I tried looking for art by da Vinci with 11 characters but couldnt find anything that fit.
Some news tho: new tweet from @writingonthemoon. string of numbers, similar to previous, but not a straight repeat:
84 104 101 114 101 32 87 105 108 108 32 69 114 97 115 101

There Will Erase
Edit--Wtf does that mean? That doesn't immediately relate to any of the previous modules.

"There will erase" is an anagram for "trail elsewhere".

Well spotted. Perhaps the real message is another anagram of these letters?
