So, thus my wonderment, as they have responded to denials. Alas, as no response does not equate to acceptance, so my question's been answered Razz

Something about the idea that the girl's picture is a composite. Many people cite her unusual hairlines as being a reason for it. I kind of disagree. Here's a youtube video of some chick doing all kinds of crazy parts. Compound that all with braids and unwashed hair, you've got yourself an odd head of hair.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=US&v=RVF9hyRSDlI

Also, the line down the center of her face could be a vein. If you're skinny, you can see this vein in your own face. Also, lighting.

Have you ever seen a fucking vain like this?
Its defo two different pictures, not only because of the hairline. Reflections in the eyes, eyes, brows, lips and nostrils... all of those things are visible!

Yup. Google "veiny foreheads" in the image search and check out Angelina Jolie. She's an extreme case, but she's not a different species.

Reflections in the eyes and shading across the face is consistent to a light-source over the viewer's right shoulder.

As for any strange artifacts, I would say it was either an imperfect scan or perhaps that it is a digitally aged photo. Most likely it's the former as most people wouldn't mess too much with period hairstyles, though it can't be ruled out given the nature of the game.

Other than that, I'm seeing hair that is quite thick, curled/braided, and parted more than once. Not exactly earth shattering nor concrete proof of a composite photo.

---later edit---

Also, if this is a period photo the exposure times were quite long. Any movement would blur the picture and cause it to look a little bit odd. That would probably explain most of the strangeness to our eyes as most of us are used to snapshots which only blur if there's massive movement.

That does not look like this. That looks like shadow which sometimes appears when you put panoramic photographs together. Stop shitting me, its two different pictures, very recent at that.

Quit cursing, and go back to 4Chan. This site doesn't need its stigma.

Edit--Quit cursing, and stop shooting down others opinions.

It seems that I am too late to join this game properly - but consider me signed in as street muscle if there's anything that needs picking up. I'm in Houston.

A lot of great questions are being answered. One of mine was answered as well. As was Power Kitty's. Let's keep prying.

Here's the best question answered:

Is a facebook Page ok for you?

We just ask that you refer to us as 8𠖥1, not 8-3-11.

My curiosity.
8-3-11.info

Alright everyone. . I've been lurking on this thread ever since it started, to try and figure out clues to the purpose and motives of 8-3-11. (Hence my username)

First things first.
The picture. I'm not going to say that it's "Obviously" two pictures put together, but that's a possibility. I've read online that one of the image fragments appears to be an older woman, and the other is of a small child. One thing that you all need to take into consideration, is that if it IS 2 pictures put together, the facial features are very very similar. Perhaps it's a picture of the same girl? (One is when she was a child, and the other is when she was a young woman?)

The 404 page.
I saw this earlier, on this same thread.
http://8-3-11.info/foxtrot/yankee/papa
This is a "404" page, but at the same time, it's not. (to me.) Say for example you typed in:
http://8-3-11.info/foxtrotyankeepapa
You get their "real" 404 page. You obviously don't see the "Find your place" text. It's puzzling to me. I went through the HTML of the "real" 404 page, and saw NO "find your place" text. None at all. I was wondering if you guys found this on any other page but this one? (I think someone brought this up earlier)

The diagram.
There were a few things that struck me about the diagram at first. . The first object of my interest, was the "helmet" shape. Take a look at this:
http://www.weaponsemporium.com/WE-Helmet%20Late%20Roman%20Officer%20Jewel%20AH6048.jpg
It reminds me of this sort of Roman-style helmet. I haven't read the bible, nor do I know much about it, but I'm pretty sure that romans played a huge part in it. (I know, I'm not very bright. . ) Someone said something about it being art. . Perhaps it is? They said on their formspring that the one to cast the first stone is a liar, so perhaps this piece of "art" is an artificial "liar?" If so, this whole thing has to symbolize something. I also think that if this IS "art," it's not just for that purpose. It most likely will broadcast radio signals from it too. I have no idea what they will be broadcasting, or what, but that's not what I'm getting at. I know that most of you have thought of this already, but I'm just stating just to make sure. The reason why I'm convinced that it's "art," is because on the right is a plaque. Another thing that I wanted to bring up, is on the left, the mechanism titled "for casting." Perhaps, that's sort of a signal expander, that expands the frequencies emitted from the "statue," so they can be experienced over greater distances? That would explain the wire coming from it too. . We don't exactly know "how big" this thing is, or "how long" those wires are either. I think we have to keep those things in mind.

Belle M.
I had asked a question on 8X3X11's formspring a while ago.
Here it is:
http://www.formspring.me/8X3X11/q/207120261890213788
I asked if she was dead. They said she isn't. That could mean something else. If this is for women's rights, they could mean that "her spirit and accomplishments are very much alive." The question that I asked, I didn't make very clear. I asked another, and am waiting for a reply.
"Allow me to rephrase. This girl, Belle. . . Is she breathing, or is her body decomposing?"
If they answer this, this may give us some answers.
And another thing that I want to bring up. . . Women's rights. . It would indeed make a lot of sense if this all was for women's rights. I mean, look at all the formspring answers and keep that in mind. But at the same time. . . Look at everything as a whole. That can't be. (Or at least, I don't think so.) There are plenty of things you can do to fight for women's rights, or anything of that nature, but this whole thing is so heavily encoded. This whole situation is pretty deep, just to be some protest or something. That's simply how I feel.

P.S.
I'm convinced how they made the site, is with the use of Freenet. I tested it in darknet mode with my computer, and my friend's laptop, and I've found no traces of myself, nor has he.

I apologize for rambling about things that most likely don't make any sense, but I just wanted to get my opinion out there. If you all need any help, please let me know. Thank you for reading this long and drawn out post.

Thanks for that stomped, there were a few things in that i had missed, somehow o.o despite following this for days.

Alright, better introduce myself while i'm at it. I've been following this from /x/ (please don't hate me) its just how i got involved in this. But when i found this site i was so happy. I finally have a place where I can play my beloved ARG's without having to deal with 4chan stuff.

Anyway I've been lurking and sadly have little to offer. My boyfriend though that maybe this could have to do with the internet being declared a human right recently, I don't really know though, thats all i have to offer for now.

Just wanted to say hello and that i'm playing along, even if it is quietly. Smile

Yep. Though I'm not sure how you're not seeing "Find Your Place". It's in the ALT property of the IMG tag that displays the PNG (which doesn't exist at /foxtrot/yankee/TheCorkTree.png which the HTML for the image effectually tries to load) - I outlined the HTML problem here.
Specifically, it's in this segment of code:
Code:
...<a href="http://8-3-11.info/"><img style="border: 0px solid ; width: 727px; height: 120px;" alt="Find Your Place" src="TheCorkTree.png"></a>...

Nothing on the 404 page has changed, and additionally, if you compare the HTML source of http://8-3-11.info/foxtrotyankeepapa and http://8-3-11.info/foxtrot/yankee/papa they will be identical. =)

To put it another way, when calling:
http://8-3-11.info/foxtrotyankeepapa
The browser interprets the code as:
...<img style="border: 0px solid ; width: 727px; height: 120px;" alt="Find Your Place" src="http://8-3-11.info/TheCorkTree.png">...

when calling:
http://8-3-11.info/foxtrot/yankee/papa
The browser interprets the code as:
...<img style="border: 0px solid ; width: 727px; height: 120px;" alt="Find Your Place" src="http://8-3-11.info/foxtrot/yankee/TheCorkTree.png">...

The latter doesn't exist, so the browser will display the ALT text in place of the image.

That took real guts Powerkitty. Welcome to you and the other new players. Mostly play by the rules and you'll be fine.

The diagram: So far I've been able to see
Man in helmet.

Lady in burka buried to the waist, with a box of rocks on either side, and a sign that says "Let he who is without... yada yada" (Does not explain buried wires)

A microphone and Fallopian tubes.

Other even worse things.

Hopefully some more info is on it's way to help sort things out Smile
