This theory is an interesting one, but I don't find it entirely valid because of extended moments of the Operator on film without distortion. Said distortion has been seen to cause the video to entirely freeze/become impossible to view. So why would he keep so much of it clear?

An easy answer could be that since the Operator isn't human and most likely isn't part of this dimension/universe/world/etc, how would he be expected to understand video tapes? Or how they work? How they record? Maybe he learned how they react to certain waves of sound or whatnot and he is using them to destroy the video as much as he can.

i'm pretty sure it's just the fact that they're shooting it in hd with a better camera now and it's picking up on the persons face behind the pantyhose or w/e it is. they said in an interview a while ago they weren't going to render season 1 in 720p for this exact reason.

But then why shift to 720p for season 2 if you have the exact same problem, unless for story reasons it isn't a problem this time around?

they probably didn't think it'd be an issue. slendy didn't appear that close up until 13 entries in. they probably had money this season and got a better camera.

and i mean, we're only really 2-3 weeks past entry 26's time. why would slendy just now start developing facial features instead of over the 3 year period where alex was gone

What many people seem to be forgetting is the original images of Slendy, he actually does have a face, if that's what you want to call it:

Man, does that mean we're all goners too?
I mean uh... Slender-who? Never heard of it, I don't know anything about that.

In the first pic made by Victor Surge, he doesn't have a face.

The picture posted in this thread was made by Victor, and if I recall most of the ones he made did in fact have a face or facial features to some degree. It's all irrelevant though, for all intents and purposes the Operator is a separate entity.
