Now we have number 43 and Alex is walking into the woods and coming face to fact with the thing again as if he knows it's going to be there.


And we still have the message 'BLEED MORE'. Who that's meant for, what purpose it serves, etc, is all a mystery.

Ok... sorry... Recovered...

Alright, I have a thought that is wildly out there. It has no basis in fact, and no evidence beyond circumstantial, BUT...

People have been bringing up three points following this entry:

1) Is Alex to be trusted?

2) Does Slenderman look different?

3) Why is Slenderman just standing there?

This is going to cause me to be severely flamed, I just know it, but...

Would Alex stage an encounter with a fake Operator to fake his own death?

It WOULD explain the visual differences, and it would be easy for Alex to edit the video to create the distortions(some of you even mentioned that the video distortion looked different). Not sure why he would do this - the only people it would throw off would be Jay and possibly TTA - certainly not Slenderfriend. But just a hypothesis.

Okay i'm going to say what I said before and add too it because I just had a really good idea

So I have a pretty good theory as to what is going on. So masky and TTA are good guys. I mean TTA returned the camera and masky went for alex when there was the confrontation in the house. They wear the masks because it protects them against the operator. It stops him from getting into there head. Alex after all of this time has turned evil I believe. He bows to the operator as he directs him to other people. Because operators direct calls he takes alex and directs him to jay. That's why Alex always knows where Jay is. Alex tries to seek out Masky and TTA by using Jay as bait because the operator can't find them because the mask hides them. Masky and TTA are trying to kill the operator. Alex is protecting him. They are trying to end it all while Alex is trying to grow more powerful. This is just my thought, feel free to elaborate on it.

What I am adding is Alex is totally giving his life to slenderman and is trying to bring him to life I think. Giving him more of a face while alex loses his. He is trying to turn him into a living breathing creature that can roam the earth and to be seen by everyone. Alex is a sacrifice. IF this is true then Alex could secretly be good. Making it seem like he is evil with slenderman but in reality he knows the only way to kill him is if he falls into the realm of reality. giving TTA, Masky, and Jay the chance to kill him and end it all. THIS WOULD BE AWESOMELY GOOD.

so you're telling me jay manually adds in that distortion, or it appears when he tries to cut video? i'm not buying it. to each his own

 		So I have a question, Why does Alex pick Jay up and take him back to that house only to drop him off right after that? What was the point of that?? They're supposed to be looking for Amy but then Alex goes right to the woods? After rewatching the video, it just really struck me as odd to go pick someone up show them one thing for like 2 minutes and then drop them back off.

he was going to check if she went back home. he dropped jay off because he knew he was going to meet the operator and didn't want to put jay at risk. i guess he saw no risk at amys house.

I don't disagree with your interpretation here, but it doesn't ease the problems I'm having with the scenario as a whole, and that's largely to do with the house event preceding it. Alex lying to Jay, totally okay with that, be it for altruistic or nefarious purposes. But then why involve Jay at all. Jay is clearly just hanging out in his hotel waiting for Alex to Do Things at this point. He doesn't leave his room until Alex calls, doesn't know where the house is, and doesn't appear to particularly know why they were going there. Heck he doesn't even get out of the car. The whole endeavour appears to be a completely wasted trip entirely prompted and led by Alex. So if Alex was just going to go into the forest alone at the end of it all, why did he involve Jay at any step in the process that day? I can only think something happened between the house footage and the forest footage, but Jay's deliberate merging of those two separate events - the first time I think he's ever done that - seems to deliberately be ruling out that possibility. I dunno if I'm articulating it well but the whole thing sits really wrong with me.

Slenderman looks different because they're shooting in HD now and more details show up, so they changed him up a little bit. It's pretty clear that the original look in Season 1 was pretty adhoc but he is always so obscured that you can't get a handle on details. HD by its very nature is going to capture more detail, so they had to GIVE him more detail. Now he doesn't just look like a dude with long arms wearing a sock over his head.

It's on purpose, but meaningless.
But surely there is meaning to be discerned from which details they choose to add?

 		Slightly off topic, but with the sort-of talk with Slendy "growing" a face (but I think it's either an OOG mask issue or a branch), I think that he is turning into this.

 		i think alex wants to keep jay safe. that's why he's involving him. it's not like him and jay are strangers, they were good friends in college.

I think that the distortion effects can include turning the camera off and turning it back on later, which explains a lot of jump cuts during distortion that people don't react to.

Alex has been weird ever since Entry #38. Where was he taking Jay?

Hmmmm...Alex wants more than anything in the world to get his girlfriend back, yes?

And the Slender Man just turned his sights on Jay. It seems pretty obvious by Alex not telling Jay where he's living and being really upset at Jay for going into Rosswood alone that Alex has definitely realized Slender Man has changed victims.

Let's add two and two up to make four:

Slender Man wants Jay. Alex wants Amy. They both have what each other wants.

Alex willingly went under Slender Man's influence. And 38 is definitely following this up, and where's Alex taking Jay?

Into the clutches of the Slender Man.

INTERESTING THEORY IS INTERESTING! But honestly, that sounds pretty cool. The only problem with that is that we don't know where Amy is. She could be with the Operator, but we just don't know. And I think that we need to try to figure out when 38 takes place. It may belong right after 43, but we don't know.
