seattle axons

What a shame that Astrec can't make it. I was really hoping not to be alone at the Queen Anne axons. I suggest that if Melissa asks us where our team is, we reply that they're out on maneuvers or in the field.

Edit: Oh yeah, and Mykie...LOVE what you're doing with the logo.

Hrm, wonder what the difference is between Rank and File and Elite Forces?

Rank and File - 0/250 ... PENDING VISUAL CONFIRMATION
Elite Forces - 0/15 ... PENDING VISUAL CONFIRMATION

Edit:
Nav & Comm. - 0/25 ... PENDING VISUAL CONFIRMATION

Science & Medical - 0/15 ... PENDING VISUAL CONFIRMATION

Engineer & Mechanic - 0/25 ... PENDING VISUAL CONFIRMATION

Band & Entertainment - 0/10 ... PENDING VISUAL CONFIRMATION

1 Paratroop, 1 Vac Suit Tech, 1 Scuba - 0/3 ... PENDING VISUAL CONFIRMATION

Anyone got some scuba gear?

It doesn't appear that we'll need a quick turn around on the digital pictures, so I won't plan on heading into Seattle today.

If something comes up, I should still be mostly available.

And for those of you who don't want to look at the top-most stickied post:
QUESTION: Who is the enemy?

ANSWER: The Covenant

Also, from the Hives page, it looks like those of you who would like Axons closer to home can now get them:

Alternately, crew members unable to reach current axons may submit an axon for potential rendezvous. They will need to verify that it can accept inbound transmissions, and send me its physical coordinates, and a photograph that clearly displays its number. Crew members may muster at such potential axons for training exercises.

Looks like you can make it pretty much any payphone, as long as you have the GPS coordinates for it.

Also, some important info for the pictures:
http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=85782#85782

Apparently, if you send a picture, you have to be near an axon. (Although I"m guessing that maybe any payphone will do--how would the PMs know whether or not it's the right one?) So as long as there are 2 people per payphone, we can get 2 rank and file pictures to send to Melissa.

Well, there's never anyone at my payphone but me. Anyone want to meet me at 17:50 in Ballard?

I'm hoping they accept my personal axon as an axon and don't reject my picture.

Well, it looks like our reward for our preparation for this exercise, locally
and statewide, is simply a more organized, prepared, community.

I was trying to get people here to tell me which axons they would like to
answer and what time would be best for them. I only got a couple of
responses. That was dissapointing enough but now Melissa comes along
and not only steals my idea but one ups me. Bitch. Wink

Do we know what we're supposed to take photos of, exactly?

Yeah, for the locked wavs, you need a picture of you doing your job at an axon.

For a new axon, you need a picture of the phone showing its number and the include its coords in the email.

That seems like it's going to be tough for those of us out there solo to do. I'll give it a shot, though.

EDIT: The more and more I think about it, the more and more I doubt I can take a picture of myself doing much of anything other than holding a phone. However, I don't think we need to take the photo at the same time we answer the call. We may want to consider having us meet up in groups of two or more to take photos, like these guys: http://www.pitt.edu/~cmh42/haefele_deltinawildfire.jpg

If anybody is interested in meeting me @ the 11:29 axon, we can take photos of each other. If nobody else shows, I'll enhottenate and try to get a passerby to help, I guess.
