The Ferry, if the schedule is on mark, you'll get there in about 15-20 min.

The ferry does take about 23 minutes (it happens to be the exact length of The Allman Brothers' Fillmore East version of Whipping Post, give or take a few seconds, but I digress), but the issue is that I'm going to be a half hour away from it once I get out at 2:30.

I don't think so Sad If you can make it into Manhattan, @mention me on Twitter (@lego606) or text me. I'll PM you my details.

Greatly appreciated. Though, now that I think about it, I could get home more or less at zero hour. You know what, I'm not sure what help I can be (my post count should give you a clear picture of how much experience I have Laughing), but I think I'm up for web duty. I will be tweeting from FirePenguin99.

It's been a long time since I was involved in any ARGs seriously (the last one I can recall was running around on foot in NYC for Cloverfield), but I'm free and totally in for this. No better way to get reintegrated with everyone here than to jump directly into the deep end, eh? Let me know what we need to do.

@benthic
Was Grand Central decided as the meeting point, then? That's easy enough for me to get to; only about 30 minutes or so.

Yea, I'll be there holding a #iceflynyc sign by the info booth in the main concourse at about 3:05.

Recommendations for first-timers: (please add to this, anyone else) it depends on how complex they're going with this, but better to be prepared. If you're doing ground duty, phone set up for GPS mapping is a huge help. If you don't have a QR scanner on your phone, install one. Bring a laptop too if you have one, faster than a phone if you can get wifi. Buy a flashlight-sized blacklight if you don't have one. Might want to bring a multitool/scissors, can't go wrong with having tools (getting envelope open in a BIG hurry, maybe? heh). Backpack with some snacks and water/caffeine is good. If we don't have info beforehand about where to be, pick a central location, preferably a cafe with wifi to wait.
For net support, a local person who can be on Mapquest/Google duty is great.

As best we can (at least as far as this forum's concerned), try to play fair and nice - whether you're the first person there, or perhaps missed it by seconds. Play nice with other people who might show up before/after you if you go to your city's location. Have fun, and yeah, play nice If there's swag, decide amongst yourselves how you'll split it up if you do, but try to respect the first finder's choice. Assuming of course it plays out similarly... who knows what it'll be like this time. *shrug*

Hey y'all! I'm a little late to this shindig, but on time for the icefly release. So high fives!

I live near Philly, but I can get to New York in ~1 hour and a half. I didn't have enough warning this time, but if another live event happens I'll do my best to get there... And with 42E, I'm thinking we'll get a few more. Smile

I'm on twitter as @floodgateopen, but I don't really post. Just don't be surprised if I follow you!
