Vince - the voyeur with his hidden agenda

Wasn't that Slendy though, and not Vince??

Also, maybe we should shoot Jeff a message. Guess he "narrates" the story.

Why wouldn't it be Vince? The descriptions of Firebrand, Voyeur, and Guardian describe the three boys extremely well. The alternate interpretations involving Slendy/Rake/HABIT/Doctor/whoever are interesting, but not particularly more likely than the obvious interpretation.

Why would HABIT clue us in that he's unreliable?

Backdoor of sorts for an egomaniac. He can lie all day and if caught in the lie can say that he intended to be caught all along as part of his fiendish plan. Stretch, but yeah, that's kinda why I said not sure what to make of it.

I always thought that the voyeur was Vince but looking back now I see that there was never a definitive answer on that in canon and some discussion internally as to who it was. Don't mean to dredge that up again but either Vince or Slendy seems the most likely voyeur and of the two, only Vince has had notable narration. Any other possibilities missing?

In regards to the diary entry, I am tempted to believe that Habit was in league with Slender Man at the time.

The only way it seems to work out if it's a mutally benefits thing. HABIT gets to slice and dice and murder and Slendy gets the kid. That works for the past, but what does Slendy get out of the current deal?

This seems like a pretty solid theory to me.
As far as the present is concerned, who's to say that they didn't have some sort of fallout sometime between the diary entry and now (Slendy and Habit I mean). That would explain the banter on twitter, which I always took as evidence that the two forces were relatively familiar with each other.

So I pretty much follow every single video series there is. Just saying.

We never came to an agreement who the Voyeur is. Many of us, myself included, just kind of assume its Vince since The Firebrand fits Evan to a T, and The Guardian is Jeff so hard it's not even funny. So by process of elimination, Vince becomes The Voyeur.

I can understand why there are those who want these definitions to apply to Slendy and Co. -- we all love the boys, and no one wants anything terrible to happen to them. But there is no narrative value that I can see in giving those definitions to Slendy and Co. The only way it adds to the story in a coherent way is if we apply them to the boys.

And thus we come back to the question: what is Vince's hidden agenda?

But we're just going in circles until something breaks open.

I can think of one scenario in which it might fit, as we still have no clue as to the baddies' motivation(s): If it turns out that fulfillment of the Prophecy Cycle means the old iteration of the baddies are freed and the boys become the new iterations, then the definitions could apply to both sets. Slendy was the human Voyeur in the previous cycle and is now the preternatural Voyeur to Vince's human role, etc.

EDIT: But even if that were the case, we'd still have to wonder about Vince's hidden agenda.

So, when you were reading that new Habit entry, was nobody reminded of this? http://www.profilingtheunexplained.com/cryptozoology/the_grinning_man.html

I know he's been semi-associated with UFO's, but he's also been associated with the Mothman and Indrid Cold. Both of which definitely inspire the Slenderman mythos.

If I remember right, the chest had cards that were called by each "character", right?

I had the impression the "up" side of each card was one of the characters, while the "down" side was one of the... "monsters".

So maybe the Voyeur is Vince AND the tall man?

That's a good reminder! But I would bet that, if anything, the cards were about giving further connection between the boys to their respective monsters.

That's an interesting thought, though, thank you for bringing it up. (:

Hmmmm.... this song was made in the 1950's. And there's a reference to it in the new CYSTW post, kind of like Reverend Green in that Corenthal Letter and Animal Collective.....any connections?

You know, I think I'm really losing interest in this series. It started off SO DAMNED GOOD, but...it's really lost steam for me.

The only things we've had for the last couple months have been the hijacking of canyouseethewords, Jeff's letter about his parents, the return of the trials, and FRA's little diversion. Oh, and a brief crossover with TribeTwelve.

It's been two months since the last proper entry in the series. It's been MOOOONTHS since there has been a hidden video. I know the guys are in school and therefore HAVE school and so I'm willing to forgive some of this, but we're a month into what would be summer break and...nothing.

Even the notion of a new box turned out to be a fake. I truly wonder if the guys don't know where to take it next, or if they do, how to accomplish it in an interesting way.

I have a feeling we may see our final hidden video soon. And when I say soon, I mean within the month.
I'd also hazard a guess to the title, but I think we all could.

Another thing I realized in regards to my Butcher Pete theory.

Alex was playing Fallout 3, a game the song is in, during a ustream.

Coincidence? Probably, but something to think about.

Hey Gang, I keep seeing references to this "Cycle Theory" and was just wondering if anyone could give me a quick Run-Down on what it entails. Seems interesting. Much appreciation.
