Well, I've got the 786 message recorded, but I'm not going to bother transcribing it until we can be certain that these are unrelated leftovers dangling behind from a previous ARG. Kind of takes the fun out of everything tonight, I suppose, but whatever. I guess I'll just go back to skimming through the .flv files.

They're not.
They are just using the same voicemail system/service. Not connected. Previous ARGs. Mistakes happen Wink
If they can fix it, I'm sure they will. Otherwise, this has happened before in past campaigns as well - voicemail systems aren't foolproof. Tinkering with them can lead to unexpected results...

Well unless of course the Traelek Institute has been used as a cover for The Joker, hosts exhibit 24 from Year Zero, and funds The Intercontinental Hotel, and Bianca's House of Champaigne, I don't think this is part of the ARG.

buuuut if they have used this kind of thing for other ARG's, then there might be a number combination we have not entered that leads to something else...

We should just all punch numbers furiously. Of course if Ext are working now it would be a good idea to try some previous ones that didn't work before.

It's not the ones from the logfiles. I tried them alone and by adding them together. (Even the 12's)

Apparently 78something is the magic combos for previous games.

Since the initial Traelek message says to ask questions, I'm only going to leave a question along with my preservation code and ID. I tried entering the numerical value of "papertoken," but it is too long. Maybe I we ask the correct question, we'll get some sort of feedback along the way?

Okay to everyone who is INSISTING that these voicemail things (that thebruce, by the way is ENTIRELY reliable and bonafide in having the authority to squash, by the way) and that we should just brute-force the solution?

That's not how these things work. You wanna have the best game experience? The clues are there. They're always there. We just need to solve the riddles. And it may simply be a timed thing. We may simply need this time (before the clock runs down) to gather clues so we're ready for the next live event, or web event, or whatever the countdown leads to...

My point here, is that as an old-timer to these forums (and while more of a lurker in the recent past), please believe me that the game masters here are NOT wanting us to brute force this. They will just take down the relevant info. Or you'll just ruin the fun of the game for everyone else.

Please don't force this. I can't make you. But seriously. It's not how it works. Let's just have fun, be in the moment, and use our brains, not our crazy ability to dial the same number and start with 000 then go to 001, etc.

[/ENDRANT]

Thanks. Sorry to be snippy. Love y'all. Smile
