I just wanted to tell you about another manner to retrieve the valid URLs on the Traeltek Institute site: Google! Cool
Not having the possibility to call, I just tried googling "site:http://traelekinstitute.com/"
It showed up all the various subdirectories that you guys found via the phonecall.

Nothing new here, but keep it in mind it for future sites: Hidden pages might be indexed on Search Engines.. Twisted Evil

Nice work! I know I'll be doing that every day now XD

Okay to everyone who is INSISTING that these voicemail things (that thebruce, by the way is ENTIRELY reliable and bonafide in having the authority to squash, by the way) and that we should just brute-force the solution?

That's not how these things work. You wanna have the best game experience? The clues are there. They're always there. We just need to solve the riddles. And it may simply be a timed thing. We may simply need this time (before the clock runs down) to gather clues so we're ready for the next live event, or web event, or whatever the countdown leads to...

My point here, is that as an old-timer to these forums (and while more of a lurker in the recent past), please believe me that the game masters here are NOT wanting us to brute force this. They will just take down the relevant info. Or you'll just ruin the fun of the game for everyone else.

Please don't force this. I can't make you. But seriously. It's not how it works. Let's just have fun, be in the moment, and use our brains, not our crazy ability to dial the same number and start with 000 then go to 001, etc.

[/ENDRANT]

Thanks. Sorry to be snippy. Love y'all. Smile
I missed this post, but I don't think that anyone was trying to brute force this. Just a lucky guess led to seeing what looks like a mistake ... or a very strange test by the Traelek institute.

There is nothing wrong with going within a reasonable number range to find something... (like 001 to 002 or 000) It's just when you go 000 all the way to 999 you are kinda.... yeah.
----

So, any good ideas since this morning?

Please keep in mind as you play this game and others, that some of the indexed pages you find in this manner could be part of or the end of a puzzletrail. By using "site:" you might be eliminating the thrill of the hunt/solve. It's happened before.

The ring image on /decoy i'm going to grab into photoshop and see if i can match it up with any part of the vitruvian man text.

That piece of text could be significant. Just a quick thought before I actually Google it, if that sentence "Sometimes, it's necessary to sacrifice riches for salvation." is anything to do with the translation of the text on the vitruvian man text, then we know something is here to be found.

Also just another flash thought;

p a p e r - t o k e n = look for the token on the paper = token of text that the ring is sitting on = the vitruvian man text.

Thinking as I type here. Off to Google this

Speaking of the Vitruvian man, am I the only one amused by the fact that he's censored?

I mean, I know why they did it, but I'm still immature enough to find it funny XD

Yeah, IMO penis removal isn't going to do much for human preservation. XD

Quote:
Text accompanying Leonardo DaVinci's Vitruvian Man

Vitruvius, the architect, says in his work on architecture that the measurements of the human body are distributed by Nature as follows that is that 4 fingers make 1 palm, and 4 palms make 1 foot, 6 palms make 1 cubit; 4 cubits make a man's height. And 4 cubits make one pace and 24 palms make a man; and these measures he used in his buildings. If you open your legs so much as to decrease your height 1/14 and spread and raise your arms till your middle fingers touch the level of the top of your head you must know that the centre of the outspread limbs will be in the navel and the space between the legs will be an equilateral triangle.

The length of a man's outspread arms is equal to his height.

From the roots of the hair to the bottom of the chin is the tenth of a man's height; from the bottom of the chin to the top of his head is one eighth of his height; from the top of the breast to the top of his head will be one sixth of a man. From the top of the breast to the roots of the hair will be the seventh part of the whole man. From the nipples to the top of the head will be the fourth part of a man. The greatest width of the shoulders contains in itself the fourth part of the man. From the elbow to the tip of the hand will be the fifth part of a man; and from the elbow to the angle of the armpit will be the eighth part of the man. The whole hand will be the tenth part of the man; the beginning of the genitals marks the middle of the man. The foot is the seventh part of the man. From the sole of the foot to below the knee will be the fourth part of the man. From below the knee to the beginning of the genitals will be the fourth part of the man. The distance from the bottom of the chin to the nose and from the roots of the hair to the eyebrows is, in each case the same, and like the ear, a third of the face.

The preceding is the complete translation of the text accompanying Leonardo DaVinci's Vitruvian Man. It is actually a translation of Vitruvius, as Leonardo's drawing was originally an illustration for a book on the works of Vitruvius.

In case it's relevant knowledge in the least.

Indeed, very relevant knowledge. Perhaps the measurements that make up a man will be part of what we'll end up collecting later - perhaps we'll be building the perfect human?

It's not relevant if you don't know where it was placed, i.e

what is translated from what.

You can certainly solve a challenge any way you want, but others may prefer to do it the intended way. So a good compromise would be to explain how it was found i.e...through using "site:", and then spoiler the find. That way, the reader can decide whether or not to peek under the red box. Or, keep the find to yourself until it's revealed the intended way. Smile

the chalkboard
pentagons?

so i have been watching the videos over and over again. something that stood out was the chalk boards during the professors lecture to his class. the middle design has pentagons forming into one solid line of pentagons (there are two separate chains and then they meet up in the middle forming one) i was wondering if maybe they are showing that these places are engineering the perfect humans. the drawing from da vinci was created from vertruvius who was an engineer. and the whole thing about the ring could show that we put money and power over the human design and sometimes we have to let go of the power to further human creation. just a guess Smile and also something to note; the very large pillars in the comic have the numbers "147, 356, and 12" below each one as if labeling something. idk maybe im just over analyzing Shocked

Unfortunately haven't found a use for the golden ratio yet either...

... unless it somehow applies to the images?...

Hmmmmmmmmmm,,,,,,,

ADD: Maybe we should try applying a Pythagorean Pentacle to these....

I wish I sucked less at image manipulation, lol

Or they have the no index meta tag so they do not get listed by Google.

ok pretty sure has not been covered but looking at the 4th image in ascent it looks like the canister is broken/cracked well the ends anyway but the fly is still in the canister space. not sure if is anything but the photos and film we are seeing the canister is always intact
(hey it's bugging me to why they included this one as the rest mostly make sense and don't remember seeing it in the video maybe someone else can come up with an idea that i haven't clued in on)
