Update from the field

Sorry to intrude, but I don't know which threads people are reading.

Melissa asked someone in the field to relay this information to the rest of the crew:

1. There will be a reward for the picture with the most rank and file crew members in it.
2. All that the rank-and-file pictures require is salutes at a payphone.
3. Melissa wants to bring Dana into the fold. She said that Dana would respond well to kindness.

My connection is much safer this time. I can speak more freely.

After missing her Melissa's transmission on Tuesday, I took a chance and excused myself from a recitation today to catch the second attempt.

Success!

..or so I thought.

When she asked me who the enemy was, I confidently replied "The Covenant". Suddenly, I was faced with a long period of silence. I was worried that it had not registered my voice, so I attempted to repeat my answer and was promptly cut off and the call ended.

Should I speak louder next time? Should I wait longer? Who has experience with this?

And on the topic of Axon Coordination

I am yet unconfirmed by Melissa. This is something I desire.

For that reason, while I cannot take the call tomorrow (thursday), I will be hitting the NYU Bookstore Axon on Friday, Saturday and Sunday if need be.

That said, I would like that to be respected, as the current call-time is very good for me.

There are still axons at Rubin, and at least two uptown (60s, 70s, by the park).

If you need to reach me concerning this, feel free to send an IM, or call me.

Thanks,

Hey guys. it's me, Digital C.

Rose? Where exactly are you? I feel like I'm all alone out here in the city.

hey, you aren't alone. We are just sort of independent operators...
forming groups isn't our forte. Also, we haven't had the number of closely spaced axons that others have had to deal with.

bagsbee has answered lots of calls and so have others. I am terrible at answering axons- no GPS skills and I seem to have trouble with the PDT time thing too. The two phones that I tried to answer didn't ring. Laughing

But you aren't alone... shall we form a team? You like Zoauves?

Eh. I'm not crazy about teams. I'm something of a lone wolf.

However, we could most definitely meet sometime and talk a bit, get some ideas out in the air in person. Or just share stories.

EDIT: Also, being in communication more often would also help our coordination in general, team or no. For instance, this Tuesday, I will be completely unable to access the two axons downtown near Washington Square Park (on 10th and on Washington Pl.) However, the 8-something on Central Park West near 67th street I can grab easily.

teams

our lone wolf tendency is why I chose that name...Melissa seems to like the idea of squads and I don't want New York to be left out should she make a list somewhere on the site.

even with our independent streak we have at least two officers on the crew bagsbee and me.

maybe the New York Independents? Irregulars?

we need a cheer that reflects NYC....

how about:

hey Covenant:

who's your daddy

similarly, the Lone Wolf Alliance could be fun.

You could add "of Manhattan", technically, but many squads don't specify location.

But I'm not 'of Manhattan'

Although I do work there, so maybe that counts?

I can't access the Black Forge here at work, any chance of getting a list of the New York axons put up?

Or sending me the spreadsheet of all the axons?

Having the list of NY Axons could help with coordination.

Ok, this is where the you-know-what hits the fan.

The Manhattan axons tomorrow are as follows:

11:10 EST 40.729724 -73.995423 (NYU Bookstore alcove)
11:13 EST 40.75201 -73.981868 (5th Ave. and West 40th)
11:47 EST 40.7335 -73.995293 (Reuben Hall, #135 I think)
14:59 EST 40.773359 -73.96416 (Madison btw. East 74th and 75th)
20:20 EST 40.773127 -73.97821 (Central Park West at West 67th)

If I missed any, post it.

I know that I CANNOT make the first 3 for any reason at all, so if any of you could help pick them up (the bookstore and Reuben are right near Washington Square Park), that'd be a real help.

I will, however, be answering the 20:20 (8:20PM) on Central Park West, so if anyone wants to be there with me, send me a message and I can give you my number.

So if I forgot anything, again, post it. Otherwise, start coordinating!

That's all we get? I know the Empire State Building usually gets listed as being in Weehawkin. Was that there this time?

Sorry guys, I said the right answer, but the voice recognition software didn't work so well and Melissa told me if I was a member of her crew I would know the answer. Oh well, i'll try again tomorrow
