I admit, I'm kinda sad that there's something else you have to be in the US to do... maybe I can't play this game after all.
Anyway, if it helps you all, someone on facebook posted;

You don't need all the different flavors to unlock everything.. you can buy multiples of the same gum. the keys unlock in order. I just bought 3 of the vortex and it unlocked 3 of the different keys. had planned on trading for different flavors.. but now will just buy 7 more packs of the same kind..

This has already been noted a few times on uF, but thanks for further confirmation.

I hadn't noticed it in this thread, which is why I posted it... and then I started reading the other threads in the forum and realised it had been said. >.> Sorry about that.
Feel free to slap me with a wet fish.

I'm saving my first trout for the perfect occasion. Usually that involves someone so sure he can stamp FIRST all over an already well-known fact. So you can walk away fish-free...this time!

Thanks! I'll blame my momentary lack of thoroughness on the sadness I feel from being able to play because I'm English, lol.

I figured out the QR code! I have an extensive knowledge of QR codes so I took the piece that we were given and reverse engineered the error correcting to provide the entire image that will be created once the other 8 pieces appear. I colored the QR9 piece blue to make it easier to identify but it should still scan correctly. I couldn't believe my eyes when it appeared!!!

This is a complete hoax!!!
EDIT:

Just to clarify - the image is a complete hoax. I created it in a photo editor.

I wasn't on it but the Ovaltine reference has come up elsewhere and I couldn't resist. Besides they didn't have the proof until now. But seriously there is quite a bit of data that could be stored in there so it will be interesting to see where it goes.

Hahhh.
I was in an ARG where I was translating a pigpen cipher that initially said "HAHAMADEYOULOOK". ¬.¬ (The rest was actually important, but I pretty much did an IRL facefault.)
Never underestimate the possibility of sadistic PMs.
