Confirmed - No 5 Gum Icefly promotion in the UK

For those of us in the UK who have been hunting Icefly infused packs of 5 Gum, give it up.

I mailed Wrigleys UK yesterday and recieved a response this morning:

Dear Mr. Howarth,

Thank you very much for your correspondence about FiveŽ Gum.

I can confirm that we do not have plans to run this promotion in the UK at this time however, i will pass your comments on to the relevant team.

Thank you once again for taking the time to contact The Wrigley Company Limited.

Regards,

Looks like we're definitely relying on our stateside friends for codes.

There's a privacy statement and terms of service listed on one of the game related sites that clearly states the game is just for the United States. I guess it would be far more expensive to make it international.

I don't really care that it's US based, we at least get snazzy little things like shiny envelopes and LED flyers in the post. I'm just in it for fun. ;D
Can't wait to see what it leads to.

I just wonder what that means..

If you get ice fly envelopes and can make a profile but not get gum codes, does that mean its not all gum related? Or maybe the codes and gum are not the main attraction.

Why bother freely admitting people to the show if you can't see it.

I hold out hope for you folks out far.

By the way, I have not purchased one stick of gum yet myself, maybe waiting to see where it goes makes more sense anyways?

Jane

it must make some sense budget wise. I was one of a number of folks who received the Arcade Aid poster during Flynn Lives. Disney had put in a lot of money to the Flynn Lives ARG.

Yeah, I think if the envelopes were sent to the U.K, but the gum is not being sold then that's more proof that Wrigley/5 are just huge sponsors for something much bigger

I'm kind of sorry I didn't mention weeks ago that I noticed the same thing in the terms of service. (ARGs must be really powerful motivators, because I've never read ToS before. XD) I thought it was odd that they would say it's only available in the States but send out envelopes internationally anyway.

Could it be that the keys are not essential to the TSN portion of the ARG? Are the ToS the same for SurvivalCode.com and TSN/MIF?

It's cool that players in the US can get codes for you guys and that the codes work for you on the website.

I just hope that the promotion not being in the UK only means the gum isn't available.

I wouldn't want you guys to spend money on codes but not be eligible to get any cool swag shipped to you as a result of being out of the boundaries of the promotion.

Here's sending you good swag vibes!!!

yes that would be hard. in fact that the registration has a field for the country and timezones,
i think its a global arg. so i got some codes from a friendly fellow and i`m still playin.
i hope i'm still eligible for swag and it wouldn't be the first swag that E42 is sending me.
(got some cool WRB poster)
