I don't have a QR code reader, nor a smart phone, so I will have to take your word for it that the pictured display does decode to that URL. Could there be a typo? I'm surprised that the display does not have the URL in plain text the way our gum packages do. (It doesn't, right?) From what I can read in the photo, it says, "Scan now for exclusive content" -- a URL hardly qualifies in my mind.

Note: /induction is working now, and forwards to survivalcode.com

as for the QR, the benefit of QR over url in the field is that all it takes is a quick scan to be forwarded to a website, or better, multimedia content. In this case, the url now forwards to the mobile site for survivalcode.com, with media available right there. Strictly speaking, it is imo a good use of a QR code. However, printing the url below the QR as well would be more beneficial for those who can't read or snap a pic of the QR right there Razz. Then again, 'exclusive' could just mean exclusive for those who can Wink

Glad to see the link is working now Wink but I was expecting hoping that 'exclusive' would mean new content and not a redirect to the same page the QR code inside the packs get directed to.

By that definition, it is exclusive.

anyone else unable to log in? I have been trying for hours and I keep getting error messages."A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server)"

Can't login either. Perhaps, trying to fix the histogram bug thus shut the SQL server down momentarily?

Same here! Unable to log-in. Sad
Maybe they are making some updates? Maybe just my hopeful thinking...

Just got this error printed on the login page

A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server)

Yeah I'm getting an error too. Probably just something glitching out, maybe they're working on something?

Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to obtaining a connection from the pool. This may have occurred because all pooled connections were in use and max pool size was reached.

It's back up now.

Crossposted to testsubjects thread, and also somethingawful.com's GBS thread for this ARG.

Have a lot of the .swf and .flv files from both testsubjectsneeded.com and survivalcode.com decompiled with assets exported.. If anyone wants wallpaper-sized caps of anything from those, let me know.

[SPEC] [IDEA]

I don't think anyone has mentioned this, but after you log in here: http://survivalcode.com/login.aspx?icefly=found, the background behind the three buttons is in the shape of a hexagon...not a pentagon. I know that each side of our pentagrams represents a sense, so my question is this: Has Traelek somehow found the ability to add a sense through the research they have conducted on enhancing the senses?

Maybe the Ice Fly is the " 6th sense" ? Hmm... 6th Sense...

I saw this mentioned on one of the Facebook groups and decided to check it out myself. The countdown after survivalcode.com/thegenesis/ is displaying 0s across the board. It is probably a glitch in their system, but still strange. I haven't noticed anything else different on any of the game-related sites.
