Not that I'm seriously defending this, but you can explain it away as bluster and identifying with the aggressor. There's a lot about HABIT that's just threats and show, after all.

IOr it could be the other way round. The Candle Cove world could be a shadow cast by our world -- representing the struggles in more direct terms. One could say that as the 'real' world cycles, the various iterations all leave their shadow/groove in the Candle Cove world - hence what appears to be polycosmic awareness[3] by the boys.

Oh, quite nice! That is a clever idea, the Candleverse being the dumbshow version of the events in our world, all the characters and plots reduced to their essence and then magnified. It's very clever but, as you say, probably too baroque to work in a Youtube series.

It is intriguing, though, that (apparently) Corenthal has been removed from this iteration of the cycle in our world and is (apparently) therefore unavailable to the Candle Boys in Candle World. That does suggest some sort of polycosmic interdependence, unless it's a red herring.

If it's not a red herring, and Candle absence correlates with our-world death, then the absence of Steph in the Candleverse and in the latest non-hidden video bodes very ill.

Interesting point. If we assume that in any given iteration HABIT isn't on the same side as Slendy, then it is possible that HABIT's failing at whatever is his goal. Hence experimenting with his M.O. (getting more elaborate).

Who's to say that HABIT has always been again Slendy, though? It seems from the CYSTW posts that he was working with him at a certain point. Also, watching Ryan&the7Trials video, when Evan was presumably inHABITed, if he was talking directly to Slendy, that would explain a lot.

It seems to me like HABIT used to perhaps be a very reliable Slender-proxy (so to speak,) hence the superhuman powers, but recently started turning against him. HABIT manipulating the cast, asking Ryan for blood (Evan while inHABITed mentioned taking blood,) all seems to be fighting against Slendy.

So all in all, he DOES seemingly seem to be working for the good of the group when it comes to fighting Slendy, but that doesn't mean he can't still be a serial killer in the mix.

So does anyone have any theories as to why Candle Cove Jeff is wearing a black suit?

Is Slender Man Jeff's avatar in our world, and HABIT Evan's?

Maybe this like the last season of Yu-Gi-Oh! where the Pharaoh and Bakura play some kind of tabletop RPG against each other for the fate of ancient Egypt.

I am sure I saw a man in a suit in the reflection, but it really could be anyone as it was pointed out. What if they are just referring to a camera and US as those watching?

I know it sounds weird and out there, but it could be... I just don't know what the implications would be
4th wall being broken? That would be an interesting plot twist for sure. Very Happy Although, I really doubt that's the case.

But this is an ARG. There is no 4th wall. Wink

Two interesting asides:

1) re: -.-., the boys speculate that Alex has been left alone because he hasn't seen "it," Slender Man. I don't think Alex is safe anymore -- he saw Slendy in May & June. The boys didn't notice because they were intent on their little orgy, but he saw Slendy through the camera.

I wonder if this effects what happens with the Rake?

2)
Quote:
Evan: Yeah he put up a hell of a fight, though. The guy was a fucking champ.
Vincent: You of all people would know.
Evan: Oh shit yeah, man, right here. Boom.

Sounds like Corenthal shot Evan right between the eyes. Bullets were found in the storage shed.

I don't even know what it might mean. It's an interesting correlation.

Yeah. If Alex wasn't screwed before(Rake), he's definitely screwed now.

Regarding the stuff Evan said about Corenthal, it really seems like that bit of dialogue was talking about Corenthal punching Evan in the face.

Oh MAN.

I just got around to watching the updates.

These are so far beyond scary, I swear. The HD rake, Alex's slow descent into madness, the "Deer," that brief shot of slenderman... I think my brain broke.
I swear, Evan's "You shouldn't have tried to pull me off" at the end of the update was absolutely bone chilling.
And don't even get me started with the hidden video. I'm making up words to describe the overall Shocked factor of it. Oh, and sick cover of Who Could Win a Rabbit, too. This is definitely why I love EMH.

I was thinking about something like that too, but I just recently started following all this so I figured I'd leave it to everyone else and assume it wasn't important. But yeah I noticed the slendy-ish black suit as well. I was thinking maybe, if each member was a synonym for one of the baddies, Jeff = Slenderman, Evan = Rake, and Vince = HABIT (Yeah Evan usually is Habit but based on behavior, Evan is more unstable and animalistic like the Rake. Jeff would be Slenderman because of the Suit. If everyone was a synonym for an antagonist, that would only leave HABIT to Vince, since HABIT may be insane but he's still calculating and seems to have some control/ intelligence.)

Course that's probably all wrong and even I think it doesn't make any sense, but its a thought.

Bottom line is does Jeff wearing a suit (black suit, white shirt, black tie. Same as Slendy's suit iirc) have any significance?

Maybe Candle Cove (that's what I'm calling it) is where everyone involved goes when they die. While here they have the memories of all the past iterations, and when everyone is dead, a new iteration begins.

Jeff could be wearing the suit because their Slender series is what summoned him, and they might have tried to do it again so they could kill him, but it didn't work and Jeff got killed.

Evan of course was quickscoped by Corenthal, who HABIT says is still alive somewhere.

Vince obviously died when someone tried to shave off his beard, but the shaver could not cut such a symbol of pure manliness and exploded in a huge mushroom cloud.

Steph is absent because she is still alive, and they mention that when Corenthal arrives they have to swap stories.

The contest Evan talks about isn't the Seven Trials, it's a second one that will start some time in the future, when everyone but Steph and Corenthal is dead. Perhaps the prizes in this contest are to bring the boys back to life.

I was more thinking along the line of the Candle Cove crew knowing that many people are going to see their discussion. Too tired to explain. XD

I'm kind of in that same boat.

For some reason, I'm having trouble with believing that it's some sort of Slendercam in the Candleverse.

One thing that I would like is that maybe there are random people "things" in the Verse walking around with cams at Habit's command. This is where something/someone like theGreenFeathers might come in play(if he were IG).

I don't know. I find that easier to swallow than Slendercam.

I get what you mean.
The hidden footage gets filmed by some kind of creature, and the Candle Cove boys have figured this out and they know that this footage is going to be posted by HABIT or whoever for us to see.

After finally getting an update in the form of not one, but two (two!) incredible videos, I gotta say... when EMH makes you wait, it's worth the wait. Holy shit, I really love this series and am confused as hell, reading all the debate here but I really just can't contribute because... so much information Shocked

Just leaving that here.
