the thing about using real time (aka the 7 months) in something like this is it makes the week to week status of jay unbelievable. we envision him sitting in his room 24/7 watching tapes, but clearly we would have more footage by now if that was the case :p.

sad to see we're down to only the hard drive now, must mean the season's coming to an end

I'd imagine, like Jay, Alex had the camera on at all times, making for a shit ton of footage.

Also, consider the possible memory losses and mini-comas Jay could be having now, real time is entirely possible.

I certainly hope it's not ending any time soon ("Any time soon" being, by my standards, at least 3-6 more months. At least until winter). I'd be perfectly happy with them ending it at Season 2 so long as it's not just a bumrush toward an ending like " LA LA LA LA WE'RE GOING TO FORGET THESE PEOPLE/MYSTERIOUS EVENTS EVER HAPPENED ".

Personally I can see why they'd be taking the opportunity to film right now, given that this was around the timeframe that stuff woulda happened last year, IG. I can see it continuing through the fall and possibly winter. More entries during summer/fall would explain Alex and J's hoodies/jackets in 38, that entry possibly taking place further down the road because of Alex's odd behavior as of late, and what we've seen from 41.

Can't wait to see the newerest entry, though.

I couldn't agree with you more. If they just bumrush it to the end, I'm going to be pissed. There so many things I want to have explained by the end. Mainly what the ark is. These next two nights will be an F5 party for me...or I could watch his twitter. But where's the fun in that? Cool

He's actually still going through the tapes, but he's also following along with the footage on the hard drive. Hopefully this will mean plenty more entries.
I'd remind everyone that season 1 was, what, barely half over by the time Jay ran out of footage from the Marble Hornets shoot to look over? All running out of footage means is that Jay has to get his ass in gear and go investigate.

More than half of season 1 is from the original MH tapes, actually (17 videos out of 28, unless you count in TTA responses as well).

I could see the series being nice and symmetrical and ending with these tapes we're following now, or it could go back to present time first. Really no way to tell. It's totally possible for them to make the hotel entries a suitable chronological ending. Hell, when J went to Rosswood in Entry #31 there was no distortion so you could use that as an argument that the Operator left the area during the seven months. It would be pretty funny in retrospect if J and Jess were actually just flipping out over nothing and being paranoid. Razz

(Entry #33 makes that unlikely for obvious reasons but... heh.)

Well, if they wanted to answer everything then they would have to bring it back to real time at some point wouldn't they?

If they didn't then we would never find out what happened to Jessica and what's up with Tim in the present time.

Not necessarily. Someone can get kidnapped by Tim during the seven months and it would show what happens to people he kidnaps or whatever. Hell, he could even kidnap Jessica twice. Razz Or, hell, maybe Tim just killed her then killed himself. Maybe J has to be the last man standing for some reason. That would explain it. (Obviously the deaths would have to be implicit since they'd die after Entry #33 chronologically.)

I'm sure they could think of an imaginative way to do it if they really wanted to!

That's sounds unlikely, to me anyway. I just feel like it has to go back to real time before it all ends, but anything's possible in the realm of Marble Hornets.

Just as long as they don't leave a ton of questions unanswered in the end, I think I'll be pleased either way Very Happy

^ I agree with awakeasaurusrex. Jay running out of footage wouldn't necessarily mean that the season is coming to an end. Honestly, I don't even see where the idea came from that Jay was completely done with the tapes.

He tweeted:
Quote:
Continuing to look through the external hard drive. At least I'm not having to fumble with tapes very much right now.

He never said that he was completely done with the tapes. I think that if he was completely done with them, he would make it clearer then that.

Unless I missed something...

Yep. It's been pretty quiet.
I'm considering sleeping tonight, I have to get up at 5:30.

I should wire my alarm to go off when MarbleHornets tweets using Arduino. Cool

This made me laugh for some reason.

At this rate we'll be here all night.

I have 2 ibuprofen by my bed, and the coffee scheduled to come on at 5.
I'm ready to take on an all nighter staying up another 20 minutes.
