We here in colorado springs finally got to be part of the action today. Not only did we submit a picture for the Rank and file (Below you can see Cedmond saluting outside of a walmart), but we also submited a phone for the next round of axions. Hopefully, we will finally be able to play the game to.

Ok, Here is what i wrote to Melissa as well as her response....

hmrpita,
Your recruitment efforts are most impressive.
Spectacular.
You have indeed demonstrated your loyalty to me.
I will have a special assignment for your crew in the future. I trust
you to advise your new members wisely.

Melissa,

I spoke with you today at 17:54 at the coordinates 37.79144,

coordinates. I am sending this because you requested I send to you to
prove I am who I say I am and to demonstrate my loyalty.

Our telephone conversation ended abruptly, which I can only assume was
caused by hardware incompatibilities, so I didn't get a chance to pass
the phone to the other San Francisco Killer Bees, 49th Regulator
Division crew members who were with me. The crew members names are:
Ceantari (new recruit)
Ariock (new recruit, Engineer)
Ranger D (CWO, 9/28 )
Mazian (Cpl, 9/21)
Fabulich (10/5 in Berkeley)

Another way I demonstrated my fealty is by recruiting new members.
Also attached is a photograph of new SF recruits who are ready to
serve you. They were recruited at the 16:37 axon (37.784899,
-122.407931).

Your faithful servant,

hmrpita

And here I was thinking I was so very clever for getting 11 people in one picture. Oh well, I feel less bad about losing to a 13-person picture after seeing that one with a hojillion people in it. Still, if it were any other day besides a Tuesday, I'd have had the time to do it proper. Anyway, "Howdy y'all," Lieutenant Junior Grade Iroquois Pliskin, reporting in.

The Crappiest Saluter of All

OK, I salute like a dork, assuming a dork even salutes! But, if a dork does salute, that would be me. Razz

It is interesting to see the myriad saluting styles out there.

Good job to everyone today! So much initiative and imagination boggles the mind, if you think about how it could be applied to ... something ... useful? Very Happy Naw, this is fun, which is extremely useful!!! Again, WTG everyone! Rock On

Hey, wait a tick, are you that guy that G4TV interviewed?

G4tv interviewed all 3 people in my pics (excluding the random lady and her baby). We all got some air time on that segment and it even showed me getting my first axon. You got a great memory! Very Happy

Seeing 23 individuals saluting for a picture at a payphone for a Bungie game is perhaps one of the most terrifying scenes I've witnessed in my life.

THEY ARE TAKING OVER THE EARTH.

Ah well, that's okay by me.

Amazing

Everytime I reload this thread, it seems that the number of people in the pictures has increased geometrically. It's a good thing it's over, or by tomorrow, there would have been stadiums full of people saluting to a computer program from the future.

Good job everyone. Some of those pictures were priceless.

Next week I guess we'll have to do recruiting videos, or build a MONUMENT or something. If this game goes on for a year, some of us will be living on a platform we built ourselves in low orbit Jetpack

Myriad Wise Men

Accepted pix, with confirmed ranks. This almost makes up for missing the only two of our axons that mattered (if we'd gotten one of the two, then one of the two missing audio files would be up now. Sad)

Also, watch CNN & MSNBC tomorrow. They're broadcasting live from ASU's campus for the third/final presidential debate. Look out for some beekeepers in live shots!

I stuck a secret message in my pic. Of course, I didn't get confirmation, so it may be irrelevant.

So many great pics! Very Happy

My own pic story is disappointing. I took a couple of pics at the axons I visited yesterday, but since I'd left to answer phones before the calls started, I had no idea what was required in the pictures until I got home around 4:30 edt. Got home (with a splitting headache from driving all over Raleigh for over three hours total), hopped in here real quick to see what was up with the pictures, and found out that probably none of mine would be acceptable. I sent one anyway, of myself holding a couple of red balloons standing in front of a payphone (with an embedded message for the SP as well).

Melissa's response wasn't positive, but it wasn't outright negative, either; just a request that I try again before the end of the broadcast day with a pic demonstrating loyalty or skill. My headache was knocking me out, though, and while I considered driving to a nearby payphone to try again, I just couldn't, and told her so. (No response.)

I woke around midnight with a thought...I *am* verified crew, even though I don't get calls. I could have just saluted with cellphone in hand! D'oh! Bang Head

I have officially demoted myself for that. Rolling Eyes

Don't feel too bad, it may not have worked anyway. I was out at a job site all day, and got home late. I sent a picture like you described, but no response.
