I don't think we get to pick the time.. just give a suggestion for the axon. The time will probably get chosen to fit in with the PMs' mystic schedule.

Yeah, I know, but I think it's worth a try. Most of the team I've met either work until 6:00 pm or live and work outside of London, so our current time isn't ideal.

I'll look for good phones tomorrow around Euston. I'd love to suggest that we all gather there on a specific day so everyone can share the glory/make complete fools of themselves on camera, but there's really nothing stopping anyone who sees the axon change from jumping the gun. . .

Hell, thinking about it, is there anything stopping anyone from applying to Melissa for the axon? I can just see it turning up in Australia.

Guys, she asked for pics TODAY. I suggest you run down to your local phone box and do the "add an axon" routine - picture of the phone number on the phone and of you. And just in case she is accepting new crew, do the whole "demonstrate crew skills" thing in the photo.

It's 9:30 pm here already and dark and cold outside. Plus I don't even own a disposable camera. A lot of us don't, it's been an ongoing problem.

I don't suppose sending her the stuff Cubic Garden and Adrian took and saying 'we're intelligence posing as tourists for the purpose of surveillance' would work?

Which is to say. . hi, Adrian and Cubic Garden, I hope you don't mind me sending Melissa the pictures you took?

I think Malrog sent the group shot from London and it was rejected.

Update from the field

Sorry to intrude, but I don't know which threads people are reading.

Melissa asked someone in the field to relay this information to the rest of the crew:

1. There will be a reward for the picture with the most rank and file crew members in it.
2. All that the rank-and-file pictures require is salutes at a payphone.
3. Melissa wants to bring Dana into the fold. She said that Dana would respond well to kindness.

We're basing the theory we can suggest where the new axon is off the hives.htm page, which doesn't give a time limit. That just seems to apply to unlocking today's Jersey wavs.

Thinking about it, I may not be the best person to locate potential axons tomorrow. For one thing, there's that whole 'I don't own a camera' issue. I don't mind buying a disposable one for the cause, but I probably won't be able to pick up the developed pictures until Friday.

Well, I am going to try to add one in Oxford.
This would give a chance to Sherpa and others in Cambridge (that other university town Wink) to get in on the action as well.

Or there's that. I like that idea.

Does anyone in London mind if I hold off locating an Euston axon in favour of bcriswell's plan? Most of the London regulars seem exhausted with hunting and honestly, we've had it for three and a half weeks. If you wanted to come hunting that was plenty of time to do it in.

Well, I sent two pictures: one of me saluting in front of a potential axon and the other a picture of myself at my computer at work (Tech Specialist OpenSource reporting!). I am not posting them as I had to ride my bike hard for 4 miles to get to work, and I was a bit sweaty. Drool

Because I did not have time to shrink the files, it took until midnight to send. Here is to hoping they are accepted.

Well, on second thought, I will post the office picture as I had a chance to change clothes and did not look quite as bad (and the picture was not just for Melissa).

Ok, hopefully I can get a Cambridge axon this evening.. It's worth a shot, I guess. We have some nice red phoneboxes so it might help sway her Wink
There's a payphone right outside our house.. I could have gotten one in last night but I am so lowly I don't even have a phone with a camera on it. Maybe I do not deserve to be crew Embarassed

Did you get a reply to your Oxford submission bcriswell?

Nope. However, I did submit it at 08:00. Since that is midnight PDT, I do not expect to hear anything until at least 16:00.

I managed to add a new axon in Nottingham last night, which involved running out to the nearest phone box (regrettably not a red one) with my camera phone in the pouring rain. But it worked, so woo!

Regrettably, the phone's attempt at "ringing" involves some very, very quiet clicks. If I have my ear up to it, I can hear it, otherwise there would be no chance.

Good luck to others who tried to get British axons up and running!
