I understand what you're saying, but I think going political in a slenderblog would be more like using the blog to push your beliefs on others. This strikes me as more the character legitimately discussing his interests. Some people are into politics, and use blogs to discuss them. It's a real possibility that a person who does so ends up a victim of Slenderman. I think it's more character depth than 'going political', and that you might be jumping to conclusions.

Maybe take another look at it, this time keeping in mind the fact that it's not necessarily the author preaching, but an aspect of the character he's developed, and a way of getting to know said character better? Either way, it definitely isn't the focus of the blog, and I think that by taking things in such black and white manner you're missing out.

I hope you don't judge things so hastily in the future, even if I do understand your opinions.

Honestly, a bit like Reapers from Mass Effect. Large triangular shapes. You can see them during some lightning flashes. I'm not sure if it's just a trick of the light, but I'm definitely seeing something.

And no, it's not the trees.
