Can you add this to it?

The name of the young ginger girl in the car is "Bobbi Gnarsea" and if that was her sister that accompanied her, then her name could be "Maxine Gnarsea."

We now know her name is Bobbi because of

the second set of log files.

There was a letter to Bobbi Gnarsea from "Maxine" with these details on.

Oh, adding on to that!

Today's events (dubbed "Genesis Event" on the wiki) had the countdown finish today around 3 pm Eastern/2 Central/12 Pacific. Stalling led to another thirty minute countdown which ended with the posting of a massive chart, which can be found here. After some time (three hours, I think?) the chart was "updated." A handful of dots were relocated; this was presumably a fix. After another span of time with little headway, a box of angles was put at the top of the chart. These angles spelt out "SEMA" using the flag semaphor code. Applying this to the chart, each color spelt out an anagram of various words. The first letter of each word led to /reclaimthelight on survivalcode.com, where a rythm game awaited players. Completion of the game added a new achievement and a set of log pages to the player's profile, which in turn led to a new series of pages at traelekinstitute.com.

Once again, I think I over-summarized. Feel free to pick what you need! Very Happy;

Summary for Friday July 15th

I'm going to cite the wiki for a lot of this. I just wanted to put together a more comprehensive list of events for the purposes of this thread. SolarMarr, I think your summary is perfect for the surprising mass of people who spam IRC and FB with "I was gone, what happened yesterday?" Razz

=======

On Friday, July 15th, the countdown at the end of the Genesis video on SurvivalCode.com ended at 14:00 CST. Clicking on the panel directed test subjects to http://www.survivalcode.com/countdown.htm, where a message appeared:

www.survivalcode.com/countdown.htm wrote:
PLEASE STAND BY
Transmission to begin in approximately 30 minutes.

Some time later, the page changed to display an image, called "jpg.jpg" of numbered, color-coded dots in a radial pattern.

Eventually, the jpg.jpg image was updated. The first update involved a few of the dots moving around or being taken out of the picture entirely. [source?] A later update added a box to the top with four angles, which inflag semaphore spelled out "SEMA."

By connecting the paired dots (light green A5 to its counterpart on another spoke of the jpg.jpg radial) and matching the angles to the semaphore alphabet:

A list of scrambled words was created:

Quote:
Color Anagram
Light Purple CIVILIZATION
Lavender ECSTATIC
Medium Purple ART
Dusk Purple INTENSITY
Dark Purple GESTURE
Tan HATE
Black TENDERNESS
Sky Blue EMPATHY
Light Blue RESCUE
Dark Blue LOVE
Teal IMMERSION
Bright Green TECHNOLOGY
Dark Green MACHINERY
Brown LIFE
Red HELP

Using the first letters of each unscrambled word, a new directory was opened up at http://www.survivalcode.com/reclaimthelight. This led to a musical game consisting of twenty levels. (Hints/solutions are available at this page on the icefly wiki.) Upon completion of this "hearing" evaluation, test subjects were redirected either to the login screen, or to their updated profiles, where a new achievement was unlocked:

...as well as five new log files.

Several new pages on www.traelekinstitute.com were discovered following clues in the new log files:

http://www.traelekinstitute.com/biophysicsmonthly, from the discussion between the recently-identified Bobbi and Professor Traelek.
http://www.traelekinstitute.com/benevolence, from the first page of the Biophysics Monthly link.
http://www.traelekinstitute.com/longing, from the "inside" pages of the Biophsyics Monthly link.
http://www.traelekinstitute.com/conduit, from using all missing letters from the letter written from Bobbi to "Maxine."
http://www.traelekinstitute.com/aftermath, from the tagline at the bottom of the /conduit page.

No other confirmed leads have been discovered at the time of this writing.

As a side note - I don't think it's been mentioned on this thread yet - the Traelek phone number now loops the message instead of ending with an option to leave a voicemail. The extension function is still live.

Hi. As you can see I just updated the first post, which is the only thing you have to read. Currently you can explore Facility 1 on Survivalcode.com, solve puzzles, collect achievements and log files, and wait for you ID badge to arrive in the mail so you can contribute to the QR code getting put together from the pieces.

Thanks for keeping post 1 up todate for us.

I got an email last night saying my picture was rejected. Anyone else have this issue? I submitted everything back at the startup and just now got the error... Hope I get a badge.

Hi. I'm glad my little (hm...) post is of use. There are some requirements for the profile picture. It must be of your face, it must be acceptable quality, and it must be over 321×321 pixels.

What's on the picture? Based on "not serious" it's either not your face, or they don't like your facial expression.

the top "summary of events" is hard to scroll thru with the large images, so I might have missed it, but is there a summary up thru yesterday? I think we did this:
  • People received badges with 1/49th of a large QR code
  • People assembled them
  • the result deciphered to a new web page
  • the website had strange data and a grid
  • (then a miracle occured)
  • the result was a password to a Facebook page
  • and now Facebook members can vote on where a new deaddrop mission will take place.

An explanation for the puzzle is probably detailed in a thread I'm about to go read, but a quick one-sentence might help here.

A SomethingAwful member solved it using the file names we all thought were Morse code.
