Hey, I haven't actually seen someone point this out specifically. It's quite likely that Alex was summoning Slenderman from this evidence from some older entries

I also think it's notable you can see some of the same images drawn here as in 44

The only problem I am having accepting the coughing theory is the inconsistency. Tim was coughing at the beginning of filming, as was Jay. Alex was never shown coughing until 43. Now, the same day he is coughing blood? The splatter on the sink in 16 would have to be a "final stage" of the coughing, which would mean the person succumbed to the sickness, but everyone that has coughed before is just fine.

Well, to begin with there is no evidence that the blood in the sink, even if it is from coughing, represents a 'final stage'. It's simply part of a progression, and not necessarily a fatal or consistent progression, seeing as it seems to rely on one's sensitivity to the Operator and the Operator's effects.

As for Alex not having started coughing until recently, I believe this is true, but we also need to remember that it is very likely that this Entry directly follows Entry #43. If this is the case, then Alex has just come stumbling away from the closest contact with the Operator that we have seen thus far. Is it really a surprise that his initial sickness would show more quickly escalating symptoms after something like that?

We don't know what the closest contact is, for Alex walked right up to him during the filming of the Marble Hornets movie, he entered the room in 14, Jay's encounter was a rather close one, and so was the end of 26.

To put my two cents in, someone (I'm tired and can't remember where I read it, sorry) asked why Slendy would bother lurking around in-and-out-of-frame for so long if he can just take them, my guess would be that he enjoys stalking.

It seems to me that the creators intended to create a being who is the embodiment of unidentifiable paranoia. Total helplessness. And the hunt and stalk, for him, would be satisfying the very purpose of his existence.

My point was that he has Alex in a trance, if that shadow was him, why bother letting Alex out of the trance so he could start getting ready for bed, and THEN take him? Seems to me that with the trance, there is a lot less chance of trouble.

Imagine you're a burglar and your target's house is empty. Why wait for your target to return to where, even asleep, he has partial sensory awareness of his environment?

Maybe because Slendy was waiting for Alex to take his chestcam off? So that when Slendy takes Alex away, Alex wouldn't have a record of the place where Slendy's teleporting him into?

EDIT: Clarification.

As far as I can see, the latest entries show one thing very clearly--The Operator wants the investigation of him/it to end, and is trying hard to bring this about.

While it is possible that Alex DID get in touch with Amy, the fact that we wouldn't have this on tape seems extremely unlikely, given the amount of stuff we DO have. Tape could potentially have been corrupted, but I think it is safe to say that Alex did not contact Amy. Thus, he is lieing.

Given that Alex specifically asked Jay to help him find Amy, it seems extremely likely that Alex was in fact being manipulated against his will. This entry definitely takes place after the previous one(perhaps not DIRECTLY after, but certainly not before), given the fact that Alex and Jay are cooperating in it, searching for Amy.

Remember that all of these tapes are of events during the seven month hiatus--no one has heard from Alex at all recently.

Given that, this is my theory: Alex tries to get Jay and Jessica to help him find Amy. The Operator doesn't want our heroes poking around in this, so he draws Alex towards the forest, where he then takes full control of him. Before taking Alex out of the picture entirely, he attempts to cover his tracks by having Alex tell Jessica that he's found Amy. Then, he teleports away with Alex at the end of this entry.

I'm going to say that the disappearance of Alex at the end of this entry is a permanent one--Alex is "gone". Even if he still exists as TTA, "Alex" as we know him is effectively out of the picture.

Interesting sidenote to this theory--if, as I suggest, The Operator for whatever reason doesn't want people investigating his actions, then this would suggest that the hooded TTA, and possibly the entire "organization", is NOT under Slendy's control, as he returns Jay's camera, rather than trying to impede the investigation.

One thing to note, the sheets/blankets shift position when Slendy shows up, before the dimming effect, so time elapsed. It wasn't teleportation. They shift again after the clipping effect to show that Alex is gone.

Even so, I think we can agree that this is the first time we've ever seen someone stand up and walk directly to the Operator after being thrown to the ground. This was obviously meant to be a shocking event for the audience when it happened because we've never seen someone (intentionally) get that close to the Operator before. Whether it actually counts as the 'closest' someone has ever been is irrelevant, it's the stress and trauma of the situation that matters.

I dunno, the quality of the shot of him looks pretty similar to the one with the chest cam. And you can't really tell if he's wearing it in all the trance-shots of him post-scribbling.

Actually I think they're pretty similar, but that could be true.

Confused Does anyone mind posting a screencap of the the sigma symbol you all seem to be seeing? Also, first post!

Welcome to the forum. Cool

Uhm. That's not a sigma, folks. That's an upsidedown #2. There is a #1 on the box to the left, near the bottom right corner. It's a horizontal line, but it's a numbered box.

I know, I thought it was a sigma too, but it's not -- sorry. Sad

I DO feel like this means Alex has been lying, and that he does indeed play for TeamSlendy. I think this is because he allowed himself to get caught back up in it -- he was "free" for a while once J took the tapes and perhaps The Operator was distracted by J for a while, but then Alex resurfaced and allowed himself to get folded back into this mess... and well it didn't take long for El Hombre Alto to sink his slender claws back in and drag Alex right back to where he probably was before J intervened.

I STILL think 38 is Alex trying to sacrifice J to the Slendergod in the woods.

I STILL think Brian is TTA. Though Alex may have worked WITH the TTA crew, I don't think it likely because it seems that Alex wanted nothing to do with video cameras and the like until Amy mysteriously found one. (Prolly cos the TTA crew who COULD also contain the mysterious Jessica -- left one there. Alex started this mess, maybe TTA thought he should help finish it and not leave everyone hanging.)

Obviously Alex has been lost. Amy's lost. Seth's lost. SO MUCH more than time has OBVIOUSLY been lost, but I feel like TTA is partially to blame. I feel like J needs to get a little crankypants with TTA if their next video isn't more enlightening.

This is true. Wouldn't this mean, however, that someone else already did this and suffered worse judging from the blood in 16? Who would that be, if Alex didn't do this until now?

After he stood up it reminded me of a zombie walking... just thought id throw that out there.

But what is the significance of numbered boxes? Find out next time on: Bad Sudoku Theatre.

Personally, I guess I have a different view on the nature of the trance. Operator encounters seem to cause a massive amount of mental trauma. The "trance" seems, at times, quite similar to massive shock. Perhaps some of the things we see and call a "trance" are more residual than direct and willful on the part of the Operator?

^This so hard. It looks like Slendy is taking them away, one by one. And if J doesn't grow a pair soon and force TTA to help him, J will be gone soon.
