....isn't as fun as wildly speculating? Gotcha.

The Operator is a captured alien who is astrally projecting himself so someone will come break him out of the government funded Anomaly Restraining Kennel (ARK), the bracelet is a tracking device, and Jay is actually Brian.

And jessica never really exsisted, she was figment of Jay's imagination which, due to the effects of the Operator, was able to appear on camera. The Operator Ate Rocky and the Masked man (secretly Alex in a Tim suit) is a servant of a government agent (codename squiggles)

I'm going to weigh in and say the symbol isn't a summoning thing.

Thinking back to series one, Alex obviously, at some stage, became aware of his shaky memory. It stands to reason that he also realised he was doing things, either not under his control, or without being able to recall them. I think that when we see Alex drawing, its a desperate attempt to hold on to some memories he's otherwise losing. I've often heard that if you want to remember your dreams, have a pad and jot stuff down the moment you wake up. As a result, I think the times you see Alex drawing, they're just as he's coming out of a trance - they're jumbled and messy, because that's what his memory is like, fractured and fading.

This makes a lot of sense to me. We've seen Alex drawing at two different times -- both when he was/had been interacting heavily with the Operator. And we know that the Operator can cause memory loss. If Alex had been losing parts of his memory, it doesn't seem far-fetched that he'd leave himself clues as to what caused it or what had happened to him. It's another safeguard for if he loses his camera or the footage gets corrupted or something. It kind of reminds me of the film Memento. Next thing we know Alex will be getting tattoos describing the Operator all over his body.

As murky as the video is, given what we know it seems fairly logical to me to assume that the place Alex is is his apartment -- the place HE lived, as opposed to Amy and Jessica's place.

This is because he SAID he woke up in his apartment after he and Amy went out the window and found himself wearing the chestcam.

In the previous entry, Alex doesn't seem to have a key to Jessica and Amy's, as he knocks on the door. Alex is many things, but he's never seemed to be as herp derp as all of that.

The apartment (or at least the bedroom) is full of boxes -- substantiating the theory that Alex was moving in with Amy and Jessica -- hence the reason he was at the apartment on his laptop and fairly comfortable stretched out on the couch, but why he seemed so surprised and taken aback by the appearance of the video camera, as well as Amy's confusion about the camera's appearance. (Alex thought it was hers, Amy thought it was from the collection of things Alex was in the process of moving in.) I don't recall Amy's place being full of boxes.

It's Alex's apartment, which is full of boxes because he was in the process of moving in with his girlfriend, Amy.

Which is what I said several entries ago.

Theories are all well and good, but I really feel like the time for theories is coming to an end -- we're being shown the way now. And though it is fun to keep the boredom at bay between entries by guessing -- things are probably MUCH less outlandish than we think.

Also, from an OOG perspective:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Troy and Joseph seem to be smart guys and are writing and filming this thing for an audience to be able to not only ultimately understand -- but follow. That means that they consider the existing complexity of the story and its arc before adding new layers -- there is a point where it can get TOO complicated and new people won't be able to jump in, and current viewers won't be able to follow. Also, as great as unforums are -- Marble Hornets HAS to be able to stand alone without this place -- that means if you have to come here or go to the wiki to really understand what's happening -- that MH will ultimately fall over. I don't think you need to come here, or read the wiki to follow what's going on in the story -- it helps, but isn't required. I think that Troy and Joseph are clever enough to see that and determined and driven and talented enough to want to make and be able to create that.

Occam's razor does not mean the simplest answer is right. It means, all things equal, the answer with the fewest assumptions and jestifications tends to be correct. It is a generalization of the highest degree, and does not make something fact or is it a logical proof.

It's like a more practical version of the Sherlock Holmes quote, "Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever is left, no matter how improbable, must be the truth." Except that statement assumes you have all the pertinent information. In the real world, there may be facts that make something previously thought to be impossible, possible. That is when you utilize Occam's Shaving Tool to chip away at the unlikely, leaving the most probable solution. No guarantee it is correct.

It also means you shouldn't just add random shit to your explanation of something just because. You should only add if circumstances necessitate the addition. Say I did the dishes at my house. My one housemate comes home and sees the third housemate coming out of the kitchen drying his hands. It would be safe to assume (using Occam's Razor) he did the dishes, when in reality, he had just come home from work and just didn't want to go all the way to the bathroom to clean his hands. I actually did the dishes before leaving for work. Not always correct.

And concerning Marble Hornets, we have to accept that we don't know everything. We know a small portion of what has, is, and will happen. There are supernatural things happening that we don't yet understand. May never understand IG. We can't throw out seemingly wild speculation just because it seems unlikely. It could be true. And that is really the point of this Forum. Theorizing, discussing and trying to understand. Not every idea will be gold, but that doesn't mean you have to misuse a term used in House (that may not be where you learned the term, but I bet that is where a good portion learned it due to the House/Holmes parallels... I'm not getting into that now) to put people down.

TLDR Shut up, stop ruining our fun. Please?

Also. Puppies.

No. Your 'fun' makes my old man heart frown in mighty disapproval.

P.S. Love the illustration you came up with for Occam's Razor. Cool

Oh WonderTwin, I love you. <3!

If we're twins, your "old man heart" cannot be THAT old, coz I'm not that old. (Or at least, that's what I keep telling myself. Wink)

Never fear, WonderTwin. TVTropes explains everything. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/RedOniBlueOni

That's all you needed to post. Occam's Razor doesn't make for proof, obviously. What would make you think that?
It does however make for logical theories, you know cause that's what this whole forum is about.

TL;DR think before you ruin our fun (by us ruining your fun apparently)

So it seems as if the operator symbol summons slendy. SO. Think back to the first time Alex encounters the operator, while filming near the red tower, the red tower that has an operator symbol etched into it or painted or whatever. Now it's impossible to know how long that mark has been there, but it is entirely possible that another cast member of marble hornets summoned the operator that fateful day.

That hasn't been proven in any way.

Anyway, back to what Aconti2 said... I actually am interested in why Oppy showed up in the first place, and who made those initial operator symbols, even if the symbols don't summon the Operator.
