[PUZZLE] checkerboard/lazer room
Solved

Hey I didn't see a thread for this yet if there is and I missed it I apologize.
I just solved this puzzle. I thought maybe it had something to do with the image of cubes talking about brain patterns in the prelude logs. I ended up solving it kinda by trial and error, and never saw a pattern in the log file, so even though I "solved" it I am curious what the proper way to solve it was if anyone knows. below is my solution for those who need/want it.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
5th row across (top) 2nd column, 4rth row across , 5th col, 3rd row, 3rd col, 2nd row 1st col, 1st row, (bottom), 4rth col.

It is a simplified 5 queens problem.

The rules are simple, position 5 queens (lasers in this case) in such a way that no queen is in check.

They removed 4 squares to make it easier.

Answer:
X = no piece
E = empty space
Q = Laser

I've come across that kind of puzzle in Professor Layton and the Curious Village and the 11th Guest.

Still took me a while to figure it out.
