Now Mr. SRS BIDNESS please, keep banging away on that keyboard with them fatfingers of yours lol keep proving how ignorant you really are.

Ah, except I'm not ignorant, not by a long shot. I suspect you aren't either, but you troll too much for your own good.

As it stands, I suspect I'm starting to irritate you, so, by all means, go away and quit reading my posts, and I'll stop responding to you.

I don't agree with VoidCaste's behavior, but I don't need a wikipedia page to validate any of this. I don't need it to go mainstream. And I think we have plenty of talented young people involved, and more getting involved everyday, doing their own thing. Learning how to write and direct. It's inspiring enough on its own. DIY.

I admire the effort and devotion to the concept but I don't see the need for this. As I see it, the longer this remains a homegrown development, a shared creative concept, and refrains from bucking for mainstream publicity, the longer it avoids turning into The Ring 2 or The Grudge 3.

Just out of curiosity, what part of "My behavior" is it that you don't agree with? My original assessment of Phenom asking people why they haven't been editing or me defending myself from being cursed at and insulted?
Not trying to argue with you, Im really just curious to know the reason for singling my behavior out.

Well, he's a modern folk character, so he's gonna get popular sooner or later.

Thanks CD for your support.

I think this was going to get a page sooner or later.

I don't think it needs a Wikipedia page, but for the opposite reason. The thing that is frightening about Slender Man is the mystery of him, that first moment of pants-shitting terror you feel when you discover a link to Marble Hornets at 1 in the morning, without any sort of explanation given. The only thing I can see a Wikipedia page being used for is for rookie bloggers to tout their wares, or to provide some sort of concrete definition about what Slender Man is, which is going to reduce the quality of experience for newcomers to the Mythos. And I don't think it'd be picked up by anybody with a budget if it didn't have that chill anymore.

Qaqa, homegrown entertainment and grassroots support is all very nice, and sure, it avoids becoming The Ring 2. But it's also not given the chance to become Ring or Ju-on.

Can't believe I actually have to try to rally the troops.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Slender_Man_(2nd_nomination)

Now, just a bit of a warning. I'll not be tolerating insults and flaming in this thread. We've dealt with it before, I won't do it again. Anything of the sort gets extricated and moved to the troll thread.

I don't know if this will help or not but I remember some guy at Wikipedia gave me link to a e-book (that was also published as a real book) that had part of it explaining Marble Hornets. I'll try to find it.

Is it possible we can use this as a citation?

EDIT: Found it:

http://books.google.com/books?id=Ovyn0Uvt6g8C&lpg=PP2&ots=GecVcpSUYZ&dq=marblehornets&lr&pg=PA87#v=snippet&q=marble%20hornets&f=false

Any useful?

I'm reading a lot of the points they make on the nomination page, and in accordance with the Wikipedia rules for primary sources, I'd personally agree with a lot of the deleters. But if you do want to stop it, maybe see if you can't use one of the secondary blogs which discuss these ie. Slenderbloggins to make references, rather than the primary blogs themselves? I do agree with you, Cougar: It's notable, nobody can say it's not. The issue is, we are far too deep in this ourselves, and I bet you folks wrote a lot of that from your own memory, which Wiki frowns on.

I'd also say that if we're pushing Slendy as an 'urban legend' (which I don't think I agree with as a definition; he is a memetic device at best), we'd need to cut the clearly fictional blog sections, PARTICULARLY the Core Theory part. Once again, I'm not saying it's not notable, it absolutely is within the fanbase. But that blog section there looks pretty out of place, if I was writing, I'd focus on the blogs which have recognition outside of this circle, and that would pretty much only extend to Marble Hornets.

I've made it pretty clear that I'm mostly ambivalent towards this article, but I know you folks want to keep it. TL;DR? Go to Slenderbloggins, see if we can't dig some citations up there.

The book Phenom is talking about also looks like a damn good read.

Hey, didn't Troy get interviewed by some online magazine? That might be a good source if I can find it.

Not so much personal memory, but definitely under the auspices of original research and questionable sourcing. And there's the rub.

Hey, you sign a book deal, you're back up there like a shot, buddy.

Or the script I've heard so little about!
