NEW AXONS SUBMITTED BY STRANDED CREW Should have started a separate thread for this yesterday - so I know your info is blended with the other crew stuff, but here's a place to discuss what new axons were submitted.
People who joined the crew by phone - I guess your thread is under Interaction, since you aren't joining via axons.
EDIT - unstickied, 10/27/04 -SG

My boyfriend submitted an axon in north San Diego county. Cal State San Marcos, to be precise. The phone is on the first floor of the Arts building by the elevators.
He said he hasn't heard anything positive or negative from Melissa, and he sent it around 2-3pm yesterday.

new axon I sent in the required info for my much-sought-after West Seattle Axon. I hope it works. Strangely, when my friend called the number to verify that it accepted incoming calls and worked, I was prompted to insert $.50 before the call could be completed. I hope that Melissa waits for me to do this when she calls.

I fired off info for a central Iowa axon. We've been rather lacking around here... There was one axon in Ford Dodge, but no one ever answered it, so it stopped activating. I was bummed.

Many phones charge on incoming calls. Just have a couple of quarters on you when answering and slip them in as soon as the call starts. You should easily be able to get them in before the first prompt.

I sent in one in Pasadena, North East of Los Angeles. The LA area is not exactly hurting for axons, but it's bigger than most people think and it can be hard to get even as far west as Glendale for many people.
If it doesn't get accepted, I won't be too dissappointed. If it comes down to a choice for the PMs, much better, obviously, for some area that has no axons to get it. But if it is accepted, well then, I'll be happy.

Pasadena to Glendale is not that bad (just kidding). Try Azusa to Glendale. But I know what you mean. You have to get to the freeway, get to the city where you are going and then get off the freeway to where you are going. Each step seems to take at least 15 minutes.

heheh, no, you're right. It's not bad at all . I'd planned on finding a willing phone further east, but the same factors that make it difficult for me to get to Burbank at 8:10 in the morning made it difficult for me to get anywhere further out.

I submitted one in Rochester, NY - a few minutes away from the airport. I'll post exact directions if it gets accepted. We haven't had *any* in any major western NY town, so I'm crossing my fingers that it goes through...

I submitted one for my "home base" in an "abandoned" civilian dewlling (it's actually where I live).
I've recorded visual confirmation of the 'phone number (and since it's a residentail landline, it can accept incoming calls - just ask INCyr or XStryker, they've called me!), and am prepared to submit it to Melissa - but before I do, I'd like you to look it over and see what you think.
Picture taken with a POS Creative WebCam NX. No innocent telephones were harmed in the making of this picture (although my cat did start playing with the telephone cord).

knoxville i posted this over in the other thread but figured i'd make sure it was here as well... i submitted a knoxville, tn phone.
so has anyone that submitted a new axon received any confirmation? the general consensus seems to be no, but i'd really like to be sure. i haven't received any response, so it would make me feel a lot better to know that everyone submitting new axons did not receive one as well.
also, can anyone explain what exactly people were accomplishing by submitting themselves as crew? i understand it was needed to complete the axons that required rank and file, special ops, loyalty etc... but was there any other reason to submit yourself as crew? just making sure i'm not missing something here.
anyway, here is the pic i sent of the phone, and of me by the phone with its coordinates.

I'm not sure if I got confirmation for my crew picture or a new axon. I included both in the picture, and got a confirmation. Hopefully it was of the crew listing, and the axon location.
