"The Autopsy Garland" from the Mountain Goats' recent album "All Eternals Deck" has some creepy lyrics that make me think of masky staring right at me, or the feeling that Alex has about Masky.

"One clear shot or else he gets away/Red sun high in the sky tonight"
"You don't wanna see these guys/without their masks on"- the chorus
"Sweet spearmint and bitter tangerine/bedside decked with roses/look west look west and look away"

Quite a few of the instrumental pieces from There Will Be Blood's OST remind me of Marble Hornets. Most of them sound quite lovely in the beginning, if a little 'off', but as you listen to the OST you realize that there is something sinister beneath the surface. (e.g. Prospectors Arrive, Eat Him By His Own Light, Henry Plainview, and Stranded The Line)

Numb by Linkin Park is forever associated with Marble Hornets in my mind after seeing this:

Katy Perry's "E.T.", for some reason.

I blame Marble Pornets...

Reverie/Harlequin Forest by Opeth.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrGu6hkgno4

Opeth wrote:

Into the trees
Past meadow grounds
And further away from my home
Baying behind me
I hear the hounds
Flock's chasing to find me alone

A trail of sickness
Leading to me
If I am haunted
Then you will see

Searching the darkness
And emptiness
I'm hiding away from the sun
Will never rest
Will never be at ease
All my matter's expired so I run

There falls another
Vapor hands released the blade
Insane regrets at the drop
Instruments of death before me

Lose all to save a little
At your peril it's justified
And dismiss your demons
As death becomes a jest
You are the laughing stock
Of the absinthe minded
Confessions stuck in your mouth
And long gone fevers reappear

Nocturnally helpless
And weak in the light
Depending on a prayer
Pacing deserted roads to find
A seed of hope

They are the trees
Rotten pulp inside and never well
Roots sucking, thieving from my source
Tired boughs reaching for the light

It is all false pretension
Harlequin forest
Awaiting redemption for a lifetime
As they die alone
With no one by their side
Are they forgiven?

Stark determination
Poisoning the soul
Unfettered beast inside
Claiming sovereign control

And now the woods are burning
Tearing life crops asunder
Useless blackened remains
Still pyre smoldering

Chaos_angel beat me to it. I was going to say Blackwater Park, though. Mostly reminds me of Jay, and kind of Rosswood Park/Wherever Slendy comes from. Take, for example this passage;

Quote:
I am just a spectator
An advocate documenting the loss
Fluttering with conceit
This doesn't concern me yet

Completely makes me think of TTA in season 1.

Nine Inch Nails - Ripe (With Decay)

Nine Inch Nails - Pinion (Only look this up if you aren't sensitive to things that are a little shocking; the video for this song is kinda NSFW and a little creepy.)

Nine Inch Nails - The Greater Good
Infected Mushroom - Becoming Insane
Oomph! - Mein Traum
Oomph! - Labyrinth
Pink Floyd - Another Brick in the Wall I, II & III
Skinny Puppy - Goneja
Skinny Puppy - Daddyuwarbash
Venetian Snares - All the Children are Dead
Venetian Snares - Befriend a Childkiller

My choices.

Another NIN song, 15 Ghost II, seemed very TTA to me.

I could see a lot of Ghosts being "MH-worthy."

Ha ha, totally thought of these. All the Children are Dead is the best one. Old Snares is still effective!

Islands: Creeper

Right from the start
I was stabbed in the heart
Didn't know I wasn't breathing
Didn't know I had been bleeding

Opened my door
Thought I was alone
But someone was hiding
In the dark room in my home

You will remember some of it
But if you solve it
You will remember all of it

Creeper in my home
Crawling through the window
Grabbed a kitchen knife
Couldn't stick it in though

Creeper had his own
Shining in the moonlight
My home was very cold
And something didn't feel right

Right from the start
I was stabbed in the heart
Didn't know I wasn't breathing
Didn't know I had been bleeding

The music isn't right, but the lyrics were just too perfect not to post.

Desperate Union's "Armistice," particularly the first set of lyrics:

start from the top again
were they wearing a mask my friend
were they dressed in black or white
do you remember at all that night
we'll dig a little deeper

retrace your steps once more
did the get what they came here for
did you fight to keep your ground
did you stand or just back down
we don't want to lose you
don't hold out

count blessed stars before I sleep
kept in the dark from all my dreams
when light returns to my disdain
we're still a world away from armistice
armistice

Feel the havoc in the air
see the violence in their stare
the throne of chaos can be your
you know we've been keeping score
we don't want to lose you
don't hold out

count blessed stars before I sleep
kept in the dark from all my dreams
when light returns to my disdain
we're still a world away from armistice
armistice

through a field of flashing lights
let the sparkle hypnotize
count the bullets without remorse
in the end the choice is yours

count blessed stars before I sleep
kept in the dark from all my dreams
when light returns to my disdain
we're still a world away from armistice
armistice
