Depends on how useful the Ark is. Everything you do, whether you realize it or not, has a risk/benefit aspect to it. The bigger the payoff and the urgency of the situation can all effect the risks you're willing to take. Allowing J to post the entries may be necessary to find the Ark. And if the Ark is powerful enough to stop the Operator, it would be well worth it.

EDIT: As to why Tim attacked J in the hotel; TTA believes that the clues they need are on the tapes. If they take the tapes from J, TTA gets the info they want, and J can't post the tapes on the internet. Win win for TTA.

Kind of wish we knew who or what the Ark is, since it is pretty much the lynchpin of this discussion, (for example, is it a permanent solution or a temporary one) but assuming it's an ultimate nullifier than I'd have to agree with you.

Good point about the hotel, hadn't thought about it that way. (pulling a Jay over here)

I don't know why I'm surprised to find footage from different cameras on the external hard drive. Makes sense Alex may have more than one.

Think I found something. If it's what I think it is, Entry 45 will be posted tonight.

To me it seems simple. Jay notices there is footage from two different cameras. He sees the first part of entry 45, obviously intriguing because Alex sees something and sprints outside to take care of business, but by itself not so informative. What he thought he found was probably the hand held footage we see directly after the living room scene.

DO I HELP OR DO I KILL?

Extra crazy speculation ahoy, me hearties. Feel free to pass by it.

If that's the masks' goal, why don't they just permanently hack Jay's accounts and prevent him from uploading new videos, or tweets? And if he won't stop, find him (as they do rather frequently) and incapacitate him (not necessarily kill)?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aside from Entry ####, has TTA ever taken control of Jay's accounts? I feel like that may be a fluke, so prevention may be more difficult than just that. Again, I could totally be wrong, here.

They have found him and tried to incapacitate him, but I understand that's dodgy. One vid, Masky's just chillin with his legs swinging, watching Jay sleep, and in other he's chasing him down and pretty actively hunting him. My only guess would be that it started as an active "Make sure Jay doesn't get killed and/or scare him out of making these videos" stint (possibly after whatever happened to Brian - Masky was there, and a missing friend along with a bullet casing is a pretty direct indicator of violence) and quickly thereafter became a "keep the hard drive away from Jay, the bigmouth, but mostly kill Alex because this stuff is getting out of hand he broke my leg, asshole". Alex also obviously has a certain connection to Jay, giving them some weight there. There's no real indication (as far as I've noticed) that says that the Masks could find Alex - Jay did, evidently, at some period of time. And if Alex hangs out with Jay, the easiest man to find ever evidently, the Masks can find Alex.

Basically, I think Alex is higher on their priority list than Jay. Being the source of TO, he's the biggest fish to fry. As to how they can find Jay so easily and not Alex? Well, Jay's dumb and easy to find, and Alex has the benefit of a hellbeast sort of pseudo protecting him.

Nope.

1) Both of their masks are white with black eyes. This disproves the "infrared" theory, because then they'd both be Hoodies.

2) The Masky you think is Hoody has quite a different body type than Hoody.

Well I just read every freaking post in this damn topic and I have nothing to say that hasn't been said.

But I'll be damned if I'm not gonna post after wasting so much time.

One of the maskies there was obviously Tim, he had teh same limp and the same mask from before (not sure what you're talking about with teh Infrared thing, it's just nightvision, on older cameras nightvision filters simply put everything in a green tinted black and white) The second was too far away (and far too pixelated) to get a clear view of their mask, but the hoody and the eyes are both the same as the Hoody that appeared before

OOG reasoning behind me ignoring the body portion:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
As much as it pains me to say (I wish that everything was done with the correct actors every time) Jay uses body doubles alot, and typically everything involving body size can typically be ruled out

^That.

As said earlier, depending on the material of clothing, nightvison can cause black clothing to appear as white.

You guys are forgetting that why the fuck would it be doing that to one of their masks and not the other's.

Even from that distance, you can't argue that it appears a light color with dark eyes, just as Tim's would (and how would you be able to tell if it's the same eyes as Hoody's if it's too pixelated?)

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
And I don't think Troy is dumb enough to go with body doubles that different.

Alright, it's been established multiple times that black cloth can show up white on night vision and I'm in no way disputing that because I saw the proof a few pages back. My question now, though, is what colors show up as dark? We clearly see a dark color where this Woodsy's eyes would be. I've seen the idea that they could be sunglasses, but there's nothing indicating that there is anything holding two lenses together.

Also, as has been established OOG:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Troy uses body doubles and stand-ins for some shoots, so we can't base theories of who is behind what mask using body type. However, they did spend a significant amount of time focusing on full-body shots of Woodsy in this entry, so, perhaps, the person behind the mask this time is actually the character we're meant to speculate on? Just a thought.

Edited to remove power of suggestion.

Holy balls, the masky chocking Alex was totally a chick , you can tell by the bangs. Thats all I have to say right now I need to re watch

Then she's got some pretty sweet sideburns, too.

See, the real story here is that Tim is actually infecting people with Epic Sideburns. The Operator is actually a force of good trying to stop the advance of the sentient hair.

Apologies, I see there are 28 pages at this point and I am slowly working my way through to catch up, but I couldn't resist this.

OOG:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
As far as I know, mostly it's Troy, Joseph and Tim working on entries, unless they need an extra character (Jessica, tothepark), so since Alex and TiMasky are present, it's more than likely Troy is in the Hoody costume.

First off, please go back a page or so and watch the video provided from vimeo that shows proof of the effects night vision can have on a dark color (like black). Hoody's mask is made of fabric. Masky's mask is not fabric. Therefore, they would react differently to the light bouncing off their surfaces.

Yes, I can agree with you there. They definitely took in Hoody/Woodsy's figure in account here. They let us get a good luck at their shape when they could have easily had Hoody hide then have Masky jump 'em. I'm going to think with Occam's Razor and say that only the two of them jumped Alex since I don't see any true proof...

I think it's hilarious how people can talk about how great Marble Hornets is in one post, then in the next post say "maybe the right clothes were in the wash and Troy got a body double that looks absolutely nothing like the previous shots of the character". Make up your minds, people. Is he a good filmmaker or not?

Seriously, I've worked with WAY more people during a shoot with all of them having fulltime jobs and it's not a fraction as hard as everyone keeps acting. This video has a grand total of three people in it, maybe four if Troy isn't on-camera. Hell, the last shot with Tim in it could even be filmed on a different day if scheduling was a big issue. There's no reason at all that everything would be fucked up when they had several weeks to organize it.

I'm not saying that it couldn't be Blasky (colour distortion *could* do that), but stop using this argument. It's an insult to Troy, at the very least.

The colours are pretty much impossible to restore accurately without Troy's help, but maybe some people will find this a bit clearer.

EDIT:

I also slowed down the fast parts:

DDD: It is made very obvious in this slowed down version that that clip of Slendy is EXACTLY synchronized with the word "kill". I am officially freaked out now.
