Didn't you say something about EMH jumping the shark with MC? Just curious. <takes>

And so everything comes full circle.

I didn't say I hated Minecraft. I just thought it was silly that EMH incorporated it into their canon.

But now that Slenderman is in Minecraft...?

Even if only referenced in Minecraft.

I really really hope that they are at least neutral. I don't want one of the scariest fictional characters ever to haunt my Minecraft life.

I love the suggestion someone gave for what their behavior should be in the reddit thread: that they should only move when you're back is turned, and if you look at them they stop what they're doing and slowly turn their heads to stare at you. And if you attack one, they start screaming and swarm you.

Creepy.

As fuck.

"Only a master of reag, Dollaz. If you troll me now, I shall become more powerful then you can possibly imagine."

So, I just wrote this thing...

Greedily stuffing the diamonds into his pockets, Aramis looked around the room for more valuables. Seeing nothing that hadn't already been slipped into his bag, his eyes returned to the man on the floor. Blood pooled around his head from where he'd been hit with that shovel.

It's not like it was Aramis' fault. No, not his fault at all. The man came home early. Aramis just defended himself. No one could blame him for that. Still, he couldn't help but feel troubled, staring at the man's eyes. They were glassy and unfocused, staring off into the space between the crafting tables and the ceiling. He'd never actually killed anyone before. The body looked so surreal. Useless. Empty.

Dead.

Aramis shivered, looking anywhere but the floor. He shoved the last of the loot in his bags, and headed for the front door. The sun was just beginning to set. He'd have to hurry. He stepped outside, and scanned the treeline. A single, tired-looking cow stared back. Satisfied, Aramis began jogging back to his hideout, bow in hand.

He'd been traveling a while when he heard the first telltale growl somewhere to his left. He darted behind a tree, hastily notching an arrow in preparation. The growling was getting louder, but it was still a ways off. Aramis took a deep breath, and whistled between his teeth. The growling stopped for a moment, then became louder. More aggressive. He stepped out from the tree, immediately spotting movement through the foliage. Aramis' mind was a blur of activity. He counted methodically in his head to focus.

One. He eyed the grass before him, swaying hypnotically in the moonlight. Two. He felt the bow in his hand, strong and smooth. Three. He heard the rush of an arrow, piercing the night air. The growling was devoured by silence. Aramis crept forward, parting the brush cautiously. Behind it, a zombie laid motionlessly. One of its eyes had been replaced by an arrow. Smiling smugly, Aramis turned on his heel, heading back to the path he'd made before. He froze in his steps.

A pair of bright, silvery eyes were staring at him from behind a tree. The very tree Aramis had been standing behind earlier. The eyes were a few feet higher than his, and wider, too. He found himself imagining a human eye, stretched to an inhuman oval shape. Shivering involuntarily, he reached for another arrow. His fingers felt heavy and slow, and he couldn't manage to grab any of the arrows in his quiver. Aramis glanced down at his hand. It looked like the same hand he'd had for decades. When he looked back up at the eyes, they were gone.

Aramis stood there for some time, troubled by what he saw. He'd never seen eyes like that. He didn't even know if that's what they were, but they sure as hell felt like eyes. After some time, he finally took a few slow, deliberate steps forward. Whatever that was, it was gone now.

He finally reached the path, after what seemed like hours of walking. He glanced over his shoulder to see how far he'd walked. He could still see the zombie through the foliage. He sighed heavily to himself. It was going to be a long walk.

Aramis froze again. That tingling feeling returned at the base of his neck. He turned, slowly, to the path ahead. There, standing in the middle of the path, was an inhumanly tall figure, silvery eyes nearly glowing in the dark of night. Its limbs were impossibly long, giving it the appearance of a gangly human, but there was nothing human about it. Fear gripped Aramis. He found he couldn't swallow, despite his best efforts.

Why was it just standing there, he thought frantically. What would it do when it started moving? Was it ever going to start moving? Aramis was paralyzed within his own mind, terrified, with only the questions racing through his mind to comfort him. The creature still hadn't moved. An eternity had passed, and it still hadn't moved. Slowly, Aramis realized that he was hearing a low hissing noise. More importantly, he noticed, the hissing was coming from the creature. He turned and ran.

Aramis didn't stop running until he hit the clearing he left at sundown. The house that seemed so empty before was incredibly inviting now. He looked back down the path, and saw the creature standing perfectly still, as it was before. It was staring at him, emotionless. The inhumanity of the thing terrified him. He reached for his bow, only to realize he'd dropped it before. He'd dropped everything. His hands shot to his pockets. The diamonds were still there, but they didn't feel nearly as valuable as they did before. He pulled one from his pocket, and curled his hand around it like a fist. The creature still stood silently.

"Leave me alone!" he shouted. The diamond, glittering brightly from the moon's light, landed harmlessly on the dirt, rolling and bouncing its way to its feet, if they could be called that. The creature ignored the diamond. Its eyes were fixed on Aramis, who again felt paralyzed. Its knee bent slowly, followed by its elbow. Aramis realized, in horror, that the creature was walking towards him.

The motion was awful. It was as if the creature had only heard of walking second-hand, and was just trying it out for the first time. Its movements were slow, yet jerky and uncomfortable to watch. Aramis must have watched it walk for a solid minute before realizing the full weight of the situation. He turned to run, and got halfway to the front door when he realized there were more silvery eyes in the trees around him.

He ran faster than he ever thought possible. Every terrified glance over his should brought the creatures closer. Their movements were agonizingly slow, but somehow they were gaining ground. He reached the door and threw it open. The man's body was still there, in the main room. Aramis whirled around on his heel, slamming the door with a loud bang.

The closest of the creatures stood just outside, hunched over at an awkward angle. Its eyes peered through the door, staring at Aramis. Aramis stared back, his heart pounding away at his chest. The hissing sound was was still there, low and maddening, and it was getting louder all the time. The creature's face was mostly featureless, a parody of his own. Being this close to it had Aramis nearly in tears.

All at once, the hissing quieted, and the creature straightened its posture. It turned, uncomfortably slow, and began to walk away. Aramis stood, listening to his heart pounding in his throat, disbelieving. It walked away. They all walked away! He crept up to the door, and peered outside. Nothing there, except the tired-looking cow.

He couldn't believe it. He was safe! All he had to do was wait 'til morning, then he'd retrieve his loot and get home. He'd be glad to be away from this house. Hell, he'd be glad to be away from this whole forest.

All at once, the hissing was back. He could hear it above him, below him, on all sides of the house. With a start, he turned to look at the body behind him. He could see two windows, and the back door. Behind each one was another of those impossibly tall creatures, hunched over, staring at him. Into him. There were noises coming from every room of the house. Terrified, Aramis pulled a diamond from his pocket, and held it up above his head. He backed into a corner, stammering quietly. The hissing got louder. The noises from the other rooms got louder. Moonlight shone in from the ceiling, as a large square hole appeared in it. They were tearing the house apart!

He darted for the front door, but stopped short as he saw another creature staring at him from that one. It's bright, emotionless eyes. It's dark, blank face. It was horrifying. He stumbled backwards, tripping over the other man's body. Black stars exploded behind his eyes as his head bounced violently off the floor. The diamond he'd held rolled off into the kitchen. Aramis, tenderly groping the back of his head, started scrambling to his feet. He sluggishly realized that the eyes from the front door were, in fact, in front of the door.

And there were more of them.

He looked around the room, babbling incoherently for his life, as the hissing grew louder and louder, drowning out his cries for help. The creatures stepped closer. Stiff, gangly steps. Aramis, sitting up, tried to crawl away from the creatures. He ran into what felt like an iron rod wrapped in thin strips of meat. He snapped his head back, looking up at the creature behind him. It was staring intently at him, just like the others. He cried out, the hissing swelling to an unholy crescendo. The creatures reached their spindly arms out towards him as Aramis continued to scream.

It hasn't even been released yet, and I bet there are already people working out how the texture map is laid out so they can give it a proper slenderman face and outfit.

I kind of want their behavior to mimic Watson's. Then again, I also kind of want to sleep at night.
