I don't think running the audio through a spectrograph will get anything from a main entry. Nobody's exactly leaving hints in them.

How did that image get on here? 40 was on Jay's tape-based camera, this is Alex's digital stuff.

 		Do forgive me for posting something vaguely on topic, but having soldiered through most of this thread, I have a few thoughts that I'm not sure have been brought up yet.

On the camera:

Jay brings attention to the hand-held in his twitter somewhere - certainly the last time we saw Alex, he was only using the chestcam. Is it strange?

I think the telltale sign is that image of the operator at the very end. Its almost certainly an image from Jay's close encounter in the Rosswood clearing. Now, I might be wrong, but we've seen footage get slightly mixed up in the corruption before, but only within a fairly small area - that is, on the same camera and tape (like in entry 36), and not from a very different incident before. All this makes me think... that's Jay's camera. This would fit pretty well - we see Alex playing with tapes, so we know its a similar type to Jay's. Plus, we haven't any evidence that Jay recorded anything in the latter half of the blackout, maybe Alex took his camera?

There's a lot of speculation about the possibility of a 'tainted' camera - is it possible that Alex realised this? After all, 42 has Alex immediately ask Jay where the camera is, maybe he knew Jay would capture some footage of TO.

Is it worth tweeting to Jay? Ask him, might that be his camera Alex is using? If so, what might Alex have said to make Jay hand it over?

On the 'fight scene':

Somebody suggested a while back that Tim's rock was actually aimed besides Alex, to smash his glasses. Certainly Alex lost his glasses in the struggle, and if they got broken he probably didn't get chance to go get a replacement immediately. Remember, he didn't have any on during his and Jay's spooky ghost story walk, potentially placing that after this entry in the timeline.

On the masks:

I honestly can't say for sure if that's the same person as the mask that returned Jay's camera. However, does anyone else think the way they both wind up being on camera with Alex seems... deliberate? It's like they put the camera facing them, still running, after Alex drops it. Since Blasky very deliberately appeared on camera at the end of 41, might he/she have started actively trying to record his/her appearances?

 		The moment I saw Tim's rock, I thought back (or, from this entry, forwards?) to the bloody rock from Entry #29. They're both triangular and the Entry 29 rock is just randomly laying in the middle of the tunnel next to the bloody shirt thing.

Is this just a strange coincidence? Confused

This isn't a bad theory, and I nearly went with it myself, but in all likelihood, the hand-held camera is Alex's original MH handheld.

1) Amy found it and they escaped the house with it in Entry 26. Alex must have had it when he "woke up", because he sent a copy of the tape inside it (if not the tape itself) to Jay.
2) Alex's camera has night vision mode (seen in Entry 22 and in entry 26). Jay's handheld camera very much does not have night vision, as he has been in the dark plenty of times and it has never been used.
3) I'm discounting any theory that "derp derp jay" forgot to use night mode on his camera.
4) Even if cameras can be tainted, and Alex was somehow planning that he might be able to summon the Operator by using one such camera, the Alex's original one was definitely tainted already and easily at hand.
5) Also, Jay said that the footage came from the HD, not from tapes. Jay's camera uses tapes. Actually so does Alex's original camera. Okay, so that doesn't help, but I believe Jay did say this footage was on the HD.

This still doesn't explain how the image from Jay's footage ended up on Alex's camera (unless for some reason he had obtained and then used the exact same DV tape Jay had originally recorded on), but I feel like it is not likely to be that Alex used Jay's camera.

You know, people brought that up with Entry 35 when Alex broke Tim's leg. They said "OH is that the rock from 29?"

I think most of them brushed it off. What are the odds that it's the same rock, right? Now there's a rock in 45... Do you think all three of these occurrences are using the same exact rock? Does Tim carry it around for the ultimate ironic revenge?

 		Tim seems to be associated with rocks a lot recently. But now that I think about it, the ROCK = ROCK = ROCK theory does seem quite farfetched, but then again, we barely have any evidence for many of our other theories.
