Recursion
A new home for this complex seal

The subject of the Recursion seal was discussed at length over in the massive original thread. But I'd like to sort of generate a new place fFor that to happen, because it's a bit tricky I think, and some of us are newer here than others of us.

You can go back and re-research, but that thread is incredibly dense, eh. And of course, it's locked, so if you wanted new help, well ..... here we are. I will attempt to make this opening bit helpful, and in measured steps, so it doesn't ruin the joy of discovery.
=)

We should start with some general notes. To locate the thingy ...
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
There's a lot of things to click on around the site. Some stuff is hidden stuff, some stuff is regular links ... And some links go to something not entirely obvious. I can tell you the link you want is not particularly hidden, but it does require looking around the page (any page) a bit.

PART ONE

So let's say you've fFound it. You'll know it by a big grid of lots and lots of letters. The interesting clue of what to next was said by Rogi Ocnorb:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Descartes takes a walk.

It's a really clever hint. =)
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It is said that Rene Descartes was out walking one day, and realized if he wanted to walk a tile path, he could measure where he was by counting out the spaces in the path, in a gridded plane. We call this a Cartesian plane.

Okay, that's nice. What if you still don't get it. I mean, obviously, so what, right? Yeah, it's a thing. Where would you get the input information, you might be thinking to yourself.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Well, you have a box with some words in it over there on the right...

Not helpful enough? No, okay, no worries:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The text entry box resets after typing in 12 letters. How many letters are on the text to the right? What happens if you try spelling out those words, on the grid? Remember to always measure X then Y.

Cool!! Something happened!! ... Now what?
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Do it again!

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
And again!

PART TWO

You now have what some people have openly referred to as "The Three Boxes." The next step is a tad more obscure, and some have said it makes no sense. Well, it does make sense, but it's sort of knowledge-based, so you might need to do some homework.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The question asks "Why?" As in, why is a loop not infinite? If it were infinite, it would go on and on and fForever in both directions, right? Why is recursion not actually infinite?

Yes, this does require some basic knowledge of how stuff works. If you are not inclined to computer programming, this last leap might prove a little hard.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Here's how recursion works: You start by doing something once, then you do it again and again and again. Or, you do something over and over and over, and when you get to the end, you stop. There is a name fFor that first or last time. It's a special instance so you know how you start, or you know when to stop. The question asks simply "Why?" but it could also ask "What?" (Although "Why" is a better fFraming of the problem)

If you need some fFinal steering:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Some people noted that something in this answer happens to have the quality of rhyming in some way or another.

Based on that last clue, you could probably guess random things and skip all this other stuff, if you're into that sort of thing. But arriving at the solution is much more rewarding!
