Regarding the key, I have two theories:

1. The key it Alex's spare key to his apartment. This explains why it isn't on his normal key ring. Jay is hoping to be able to return later and find more information.

2. The key is Amy's old key to her and Jessica's apartment. Alex somehow got a hold of it when Amy disappeared. Or perhaps Alex had a key there beforehand. But he has taken the key off his keyring. Perhaps this is to keep him from going to Amy's place on the spur of the moment?

Regarding "why did you lead him here," I think it's possible that this isn't referring to the Operator, who appears to know where Alex lives anyway, but a member of the Mask Collective. Alex is very clearly at odds with the Maskies, who have been known to follow Jay. If entry #45 happens AFTER this entry, Jay could be the reason the Maskies know where Alex lives to lure him out for Tim's little revenge.

Also coincides with the fact that:

A: Alex is oblivious to The Operator or

B: TO and Alex are bestest friends now, and while Jay is running Alex asks, "Where are you going" like "You don't want to stay and play?"

That makes me think that while under TOs influence it gives you something like a feeling of nirvana and Alex just wants Jay to "Join the high". The whole "It's better with us, over here" Cliche

As to the "Leading", perhaps there is more than one Operator? And they all don't get along. And the one that J lead there? The foe of Alex's personal Demon. That's why he wrote "Help" on his little summoning sheets.

It just seems out of place, and oddly positioned directly to the tape. What if the tape was a red herring, since it's completely nondescript, and was just used to get the book into the frame without making it blatant?

I'll feel a bit silly if it's a well known book, but it doesn't at all look like one I'd expect someone like Alex to own, especially not when he doesn't seem to have any other books out.

I think it's pretty clear that that's Slendy in one form or another printed on that cover. Doesn't it look that way to you guys?

That's exactly why I asked someone to get a screen shot of it. lol It looked like slendermen on the cover. And old. Maybe dust ocvered?

Well in that entry, while talking with Jay in the car, we learn that Alex had recently woken up in a hotel not remembering anything, too; just like what happened to Jay and Jessica. Maybe Alex didn't remember he had access to the house? Who knows, I'm probably wrong..
