how about the dot pyramid thing? if it was braile it could either say ablba or abqa neither which makes sense. can anyone with the magazine tell us if the dots are a standard addition to adds or if it is exclusive to this item.

The dot appear on all the ads in the catalogue. They for an arrow that points the the item being described in the text.

A friend of mine told me that someone at Firebox is indeed very involved with this ARG so I'm not surprised to see the reference. Though I did just leave the catalogue in my pigeon hole without reading it yesterday. D'oh. Smile

Right just wanted to say what the hell is the cube. Saw it in firebox mag this morn and at 4am get's yor mind working, been looking through my mates latin dictionary and have come up with these words:

Nihil Obstat : Nothing shall withstand us.
scientia : knowing , knowledge, acquaintance, skill

Can anyone make sense of these words.....

A couple more things that I have noticed, but may well be nothing, is firstly there has been talk in the perplexcity thread of the seal possibly containing an infinity symbol. The cost of the cube in the firebox catalogue is also infinity.

Also the shade and pattern of the wood/desk under the letter from Sente at perplexcity.com and under the note in the firefox catalogue are very similar. Were they created in the same place - is the note by Sente?

Like I said not really much to go on, but thought I would share it.
Question Question Question

Ah now u say that i did some research on the sente guy thingy turns out it's a meaning of sorts :

Sente : The root meaning of sente is "playing first" (having the initiative). A player has sente if it is their turn and they do not have to answer their opponent's last move. Thus, a player who has sente can decide where to play next.

Also my be nothing but got this to web page : http://www.sente.com

Had some ideas on the infinity symbol myself and glad to see it keeps cropping up. Check the project syzygy completed thread. Looks like we're drawing some attention, first the academy now this!

I also fell into the FireBox Rabbit Hole - my first exposure to ARGs.

This is probably nothing but I'll share and let you decide;

When I got my Firebox catalogue, in order to read The Cube entry, I flipped to the previous page (21) turned the catalogue upsidedown and held the page up to the light.

The ad on page 21, exactly overlapping The Cube on page 22 is for a product called All Mighty Magnet which is a small metal cube. When looking at page 22 through page 21 you can see the cube superimposed on the text.

I have scanned the ad on pg 21 in case someone can make something of it

(The taxi firm referenced on the card appears legitimate )
